This is a legitimate Steel Legion force. Ps. Would you like any infantry to go with your tanks ?

@ Commissar Col. Mael- All of my chimeras have a squad to go in them and I have one more unpainted infantry squad and chimera waiting in the wings. If more infantry come along however, it is unlikely that I will be able to refuse...

I promised to post some pics of my melta gunners so, finally, here they are.



Also included are my standard converted from a sergeant, my officer of the fleet which is basically plastic Cadian bits, and the base for my valkyrie. These were all hurridly painted for a tournament so I still need to do a few touch ups here and there.









And finally, a new project. Some Mordians I have recently completed.

I realise I'm digging up an old thread but I thought I would post some more recent pics of my army. A few notable additions include 6 more sentinels, a couple of flyers and a base for my marauder. There are more pics on my blog page in my signature. I hope you enjoy.





PS. Pics of large armies are a guilty pleasure of mine. I have often done a google image search for big apocalypse armies.

Haha! Yeah it is a big bit of kit. I'm always scared when I transport it that I'll knock it on something. I can't tell you the amount of time I've knocked off the tail fins. They're pretty fragile. It was a big moment when I finally plucked up the courage to mount it on a flying stand. Now all I have to do is paint it!

Your Forge World Collection is bigger than mine The Bomber looks superb, Did the stand come with it or is that a separate stand you have added?

Thanks Zeke and Major Downer.

The Marauder does not come with a stand. I bought that one from Dragon Forge and it works really well. There is a lug that fits on the bottom of the aircraft that the clear rod fits into. It's extremely well balanced and very stable.

There are also some good old 3rd ed ruins on the base. I will probably put some sandbags on there too and I'm toying with the idea of a mini diorama with some Orks assaulting some Steel Legionnaires in the ruins.

I'll definately post more detailed pics when I start painting it and I'll probably be needing some ideas if I go with the mini diorama.

I want a bomber now.... Your army looks sweet. How many points total are you going for? Or are you the type to just be like "hey I like that" and just add it into the army? Only reason I ask is because I am kinda like that just don't have the money to truly pursue it yet haha.

That's me to tee! If I like the look of something I'll get it for my army. Hence the stormtroopers, thunderbolt and marauder destroyer. The marauder was actually an impulse buy from left over stock at a games day about 7-8 years ago.

@ BobaHat: Thanks for your comments. A fluffy army is exactly what I am going for and what I love to see on the table. I also have some Mordians, Cadians, Elysians and Sisters of Battle because they were all involved in the 3rd War for Armageddon. One day I'll get them all painted too.

The next project is finishing the marauder base. It might be a while bfore I post another update though as I have a couple of busy weeks at work coming up and then I'm off for a holiday overseas for about 3 weeks. I should be able to get straight back into it when I get back though.

Okay, so I realise I'm digging up an old thread but I figured it would be better added here than starting a new one.

I haven't had much of an opportunity to get much hobby done recently as I have a new baby and we have just moved house. It's amazing how quickly time runs out! However there are some additions that aren't in the previous pics and the main thing I have achieved recently is a trip to Ikea for a Billy bookcase and some glass doors. I think it works really well and lets me display my entire army (including my marauder on its stand and my reaver legs) and will hopefully provide some motivation to complete the WIP models on display.

Thanks guys. That is indeed a Fortress of Arrogance. (personally I love the name!) There are some other pics on the previous page.

I got the deeper of the two Billy bookcases and it works so well for displaying models. It's even deep enough for my marauder destroyer and its base.
