Went up in the loft today to find some stuff to take to uni and found a box full of my old airfix kits. Saw this and thought hmmm  after stripping it of the deck, think it used to be the Bismarck.  Engine  I've also added a gun at the front but haven't taken a picture of it yet. but just to give an idea of the size of it, it's almost twice as long as a baneblade and is as wide as the body of a chimera (hatch hindges were about 3mm away from the inside) Planning to add a couple of autocannons on the sides and a small elivated platform to build up the driver, comms and such. |

Yessss! I like the idea and may or may not be stealing it  What are you planning on using it for? A sea board with an oil rig in the middle that uses water transports, flyers and basically plays like a pirate version of 40k would be dead cool. |

yeah is green stuff. and not that expensive. got 24 inches of it for £5, and only bought it to fix up my metal models!

Ok spent this evening making more addons to it and finally dont all the little bits just needs painting, but (those in the UK should get this joke) i'm off to get myself a huge mechanised army and any other kits I can carry! added the deck, tower and main guns.    Sorry for the poor light, started work at 18:30, finished at 21:40 so was a bit dark.   quite like how it came out. whish the bridge looked better but oh well. Currently its equipped with: 4 autocannons 2 storm bolters 2 search lights 1 gattling gun (from strom raven but looks more like IG as a gattling!) and 8 rockets based off the tower! (for the commando squad as fire support or search and destroy missions) wonder what to paint it, blues/greys or greens like the rest of my armour :/ |

It does seem a little overgunned though & I would be afraid to fire the autocannons incase they broke off a segment of the hull.

emptyhat, it's 40k! it has to have guns every where otherwise it's no gonna get used! Also the hulls is as thick as the struts on their normal stands, it's same thickness as a sentinel hull. and like guns on flying fortresses, they aren't gonna be tied down to the hull, there's gonna be springs and shock absorbers.

I don't mind the guns too much, but I think the Assault Cannon needs..something, like a mount or gun shield. Right now it looks a bit like someone just laid it on the bow of the ship and said "good enough".
Aside from that, though, great work so far.

If you can fit 20 guys on it, than it must be able to hold 50.

it probably could due to the bases tho. And 7 guns too much? most russes have 5 and their about 1/4 the size! and with out the guns would be boring and wouldn't last a second in a game.

Fair enough, I wasn't trying to rag on your project and I think 40k boat mods are a cool idea. However, have you considered maybe adding a strut under the guns to make the area look stronger? |

gerner think body, arms and backpack are cadian battle force/ infantry squad and heavy weapons team. the head and rifle are space marine scouts with sniper rifles with the heavy bolter stand.
And If I can fit them in emptyhat then i will.
