Greetings, fellow IGMB members! After a two year hiatus from the hobby, i'm starting to get back into 40k. I've always loved how drop troops played, so I'm starting up a harakoni warhawks force with the elysian army list found in IA8. I sold off most of my guardsmen before I left, keeping only a few things, so I'm pretty much working from scratch again. I only have 300-400 points painted with about 1000 modelled, and will update as I go. Without further ado, the pics. (Please pardon my poor pic taking skills) Vet Squad with Valkyrie a close-up of the vet squad. It's mostly done, just need to detail a few things and paint the bases WIP drop sentinel armed with heavy bolter. I plan to swap it out for a multi-melta should the need arise. some old cadian mini's I have, I use them for the CCS mostly a few steel legion tanks from my old armoured company, armoured sentinel proxy and griffon going from left to right I'm very rusty to be honest, and will appreciate any constructive comments and criticsim.

thanks, 3ff3ct, I used to have a whole army of them (picked them up when the plastics came out so I got them cheaply). As for the tank lenses, I used what is called the "gem" method, I believe.

UPDATE: finally finished the 1st vet squad, and starting work on the 2nd vet squad. Before I start, I apologize in advance for the pictures, I'm slowly learning how to get them right 1st veteran squad, consisting of 3 meltaguns, with the sergeant and guardsmen armed with shotguns. Closeup of the sergeant. I really had fun building and painting this guy, and I believe he turned out fairly well Worked a little more on the command squad, mostly done. Just need to finish up a few details and find a grenade launcher fellow A close up of Captain Montavious, the leader of my currently unnamed warhawks regiment. Not sure what colour to paint the cap. Any suggestions welcome. And Finally, a view of all of my painted stuff thus far. It's not much, but it's still a start. the 2nd Vet squad shown is going to have the same equipment as the first. These three squads will form the basic core of my army Im currently working on my drop sentinels now, aside from valkyries, they are the closest things I will have to heavy weapon squads. Im unsure about the design thus far, but it beats paying the forge world price. I think it turned out well, but im open to ideas. And that's thats all so far, comment away!

What kinds of heads are those on the command squad troopers? Overall, I dig this army. Love the paintwork on the armor.

That sergeant is a very angry man. I approve.
I'm also curious to see how that sentinel turns out...
And either a reddish-gold or a white with green trim for the cap.

a close-up of the vet squad. It's mostly done, just need to detail a few things and paint the bases Whoa! Tutorial on how you made the shotguns, please! Also, I'm happy to see the old school Cadians in there. I'm currently trying to amass as many of them as I can get my hands on...

very simple, to be honest. Both shotguns variants require scout shotguns, however. I'll post a tutorial soon enough!
