As requested by Dave:
I made this because I needed a command tank for my armoured company to command the fist squads, I didn't want to buy the Forgeworld kit because it just doesn't look much like a command tank to me, and is a lot of money for a chimera with a heavy flamer. First things first then, what did a command tank need? Well, comms devices, screens, maps, electronic stuff in general really. So I took one of the new plastic hellhound kits and left out the fuel tanks in the back leaving a big open top space, which fits both my intention, and the rules.
looks a lot like the hellhound from the side.
basically you need to leave out the hellhound floor piece that the fuel barrels sit on. After that, I took the inner wall piece from the land speeder storm and cut a matching hole in the partition separating the driver part of the tank from the back open end as so:
(it is the piece in the background with the shotguns in the recesses).
The bench seating is from a land speeder, cut down lower to the ground so that it is the right height for a sentinel pilot to sit at
I used a spare ammo case on the end as a simple way to hide the gap.
The console is from a valkyrie, and the two members are sentinel pilot legs with elysian torsos (obviously substitute your own flavour of guard). The one behind the console has sentinel pilot arms, the other crewman is going to be sat pointing at a table in front of him with maps on.
On the other side of the table, standing up, will be an officer also probably pointing at the table, with orders in one hand (the hand holding a sheet from the cadian command squad sprue)
The various other components you can see stuck to various walls are just miscellaneous pieces I had laying about that add character, holstered pistols, gas masks, a pair of binoculars, an auspex, a couple of large crates, a jerry can, and an assortment of vox caster pieces and aerials.
I will post finished pictures on here when it is done. I had bought an elysian command HQ squad for the two crew men/operators, and the officer, but I will need to requisition them for an actual command squad for my new elysian army, so I may well replace all three crew with suitable plastic guys for the time being until I can afford extra elysian bits.
