I'm in need of some new brushes, I've been looking around and it's just confused me. I'd rather not pay GW prices so a cheaper alternative would be better.
What do you guys use/recommend? And where do you buy it from? I need a full set so what sizes do you use too?

I wouldn;t buy GW brushes because of the quality, not the price - they tend to leave brush hairs in your paintwork and get worn out very quickly.. I get mine from art shops, and its well worth paying a little more to get good quality brushes (they'll still be cheaper than the GW ones too)...
The ones I use are called: 3/0 ProArte Prolene 101 (50739257) and the 3/0 ProArte Prolene Conniseur 100 (50687794)
I also have another brush that is a similar size to the GW standard detail brush, but its so old all the information on it has worn off, but its going strong after many years use of doing primary colour coats, secondary colour coats and washes.
That said, I do like the Large Drybrush by GW as its great for tanks and base coats.
I also have a GW fine detail brush that has a curl to one side at the end (I duno how, maybe heat?) but this curled means it can do highlight dots very very well, and its also handy touch ups in deep nooks and crannys.
Hope this helps!

I also would not recommend GW brushes, for they are of average quality. I went to an art store and tested some ranges of brushes there. I specifically looked for short-haired brushes of good quality hair (no synthetics!) Of course I did pay them around €5 each but when handled correctly, they will last a lot longer and never loose their point. I use synthetic brushes of around €1 for dry-brushing and heavy duty works. When those wear out I just throw them away. Happy painting

If price is your issue & your in the UK, then go 'The Works' where you can get 4 detail brushes or a mixed batch of similar quality to GW, perhaps a little worse for £2. I get through these at the same rate as GW and feel less self conscious when dry-brushing. Perhaps there isn't one near you, not certain if they have a web-site for store locations; most retail does these days. Species out.
