Looks great, although I'm not a fan of the gasmask head on Straken. No offense but it doesn't seem to fit in very well.

Same as Shotak.. Seems like it is too.. Ehm.. "high" on the neck..?
+ In general you wouldn't get much effect out of a gas-mask while wearing a sleeveless shirt.. Unless it is only Tear gas, in which case it only itches like a devil..

It's still W.I.P so i might cut it off even further, but on his back it already looks as if it couldnt be cut further down without looking off. also as a side note, the Straken model is half man - half machine, so i reckon he wont have any problems being bare on his upper body. the Mask makes him coherent to the army, and i dont want any IG's whitout respirators/whatnot in my army here's a quick update Commissar lord and master of ordnance/officer

Does Wargames Factory sell the heads as a stand alone or did you have to buy the miniatures?
Looking neat so far.

I think they look great and it is a good conversions...But I can´t help this. The first time I saw the "black" guardsmen I couldn´t help thinking... Oh it is Dark Helmets kids.
BTW, The STraken could be painted in a black body suit or something.

Great use of those heads, but I can't help thinking you'd be getting a better deal looking for resin head conversions. There are so many available (esp gas-masky ones) : Forge World, Max-mini, Westwind weird ww2, pig-iron...
Edit - did you buy the heads seperately, or the whole kit?

The cogwheel of progress is moving.. the two frontal figures are the two bodyguards that will accompany my command squad Kelly: what? you can't be serious, they look nothing like dark helmet "aka" Kid Vader Dave: that was my initial thought too Cheminhaler: i would have gone for the Elysian respirator heads, but i prefer goggles over visirs. they just arent what i want for my troopers. besides, i dislike all the pig iron heads, and that pretty much goes for the rest of the companies you mentioned. the only good ones were the Elysian respirator heads, but they didnt last for the final idea in the end

had some initial tryouts for colour schemes, and finally got a prototype ready. got a better and bigger antennae on the command squad vox caster, and made some better improvments for the lord

well i agree, they are very much alike the helgast finally got around to study the armybook in lenght and realised i had to have some regular guardsmen and not just veterans with carapace armour and plasma.. so here are the first of two squads of recruits (the greenstuff looks a bit too much on the photo but its just because the throats of the recruits were too cut off in the neck so i had to reestablish a 'thicker' throat/neck and make it look more like a turtleneck than an actual throat. anyway it will look better when painted and also got around to work on a w.i.p. Harker with a 'counts as' heavy bolter (the heavy bolter was too big to fit on the base, so he ended up with a small and mountable autocannon and for all you medical officers out there - a w.i.p. medic!

i see battle for maccrage still lives on Maccrage always lives on! I still love that model though (possibly the most pointless model GW have ever produced!) I'm not sure on the harker stand-in, although I can see the reasoning behind him, I think it looks out of place amongst your more dynamic-looking troops.

allright, time for a update been building missile launchers like crazy, trying to figure out new and improved poses for the "sidekick" in the missile launcher teams also got all my plasmaguns for my veteran teams, so began converting them to fit the wielder started on a platoon standard bearer and continued to pimp my general and continued with my officer of the fleet. the backside of the officer of the fleet's cap seems bigger on the picture than irl

Is that the original model from Macragge? Becuase his right arm is either sticking out from way below his shoulder or his neck is freakishly long.
