Just wondering if anyone else keeps kill counts on their tanks? I'm thinking of doing it to add more personalisation to them.
I you do how do you count it? guess one mark per vehicle killed but what about bikes and that? and what about infantry squads? do they get a mark for nearly killing the squad? or killing it single handedly?

I know Trooper keeps kill counts for his Pask. I used to for my tanks, but I've had them for so long I've lost track. If you want to count it the traditional way, it has to be an actual "tank" to get a kill marking, meaning rhinos and such don't count, although you could make a case for chimeras. If you want to be a bit more liberal, keep one tally for vehicles, and another for MCs. Reds

My tanks tend to get destroyed fairly regularly.. But i make markings, by stripes before kill.. Right now my top one is 5 units before being destroyed.. I'll change that when the Leman does better..

Yeah, as Reds said, I do track armor/vehicle kills for my tanks. Initially I only did it for Pask and his Vanquisher, but one of my standard Russes scored an armor kill in a game, so I started an account for it too. I only track kills for targets that have an armor value--bikes and infantry are too fussy to keep count of. If a tank which I'm tracking kills for is destroyed in a game, I still record its kills, with the rationale being that the hull is later salvaged and rebuilt, and the kills marked to placate its machine spirit.

If I get a baneblade I will. I've got a baneblade with 11 confirmed armour kills.

OT: Yes, when I sometime in the future field my tanks I will mark kills. Probably with a ring around the barrell that scored he kill, possibly different colours foring different kills (white for tanks, red for APC, black for walkers). As for tallying only things with an armour value I am as of now a bit divided on the issue. On one hand that's how it's supposed to be done, on the other hand Hauptsturmführer Wittman always said that anti-tank guns were a much harder enemy since they were harder to detect and kill than other tanks. Time will tell.

For my vehicles, they will get credit for any vehicle they destroy so long as they survive the battle. If they destroy a vehicle and don't survive, well then it's like they're not alive to recognize the tally.

That would mean that the orks can count...

krasimirova they can! 1, 2, many, lots, fun. And my idea would be yes the tank may get destroyed...but end of the game the hull gets salvaged and not all the crew die. I'll probably keep a tally for buildings/vehicles/walkers/flies and bikes PLUS independant characters like a warboss

i wonder if orks would care if there was a kill tally on the tank before they looted it.

That would mean that the orks can count... Of course they can. The old ork transfer sheets even had kill tallies you could put on your vehicles. Of course, the number of horizontal lines to each vertical varied quite a bit...

I only count Armor, was thinking of counting transports but those are relatively easy to pop.

I think kills can only be counted if you are using your own actual model that you have painted/converted etc. Proxies can't tally kills... It's an affront to the hull's Machine Spirit.
