If your opponent picks the turret weapon as being destroyed does that also include any pintle heavy stubber also??
I don't see anything in the rule book about this (may have missed it...)

Check out the damage results table. Item 3 says weapon destroyed. Obviously this says ONE weapon not one turret. Turrets can have multiple weapons mounted on them, i.e. pintle weapons, hunter killer missiles, twin linked guns (Leman Russ Exterminator?). So this means one weapon only not all the weapons on the turret.
This is also true for Hydras. The item description says the Hydra has two twinlinked hydra autocannons. If your opponent gets a weapon destroyed he can only take out one side of the guns not the entire turret. He would need two weapon destroyed results to take out all the Hydra autocannons.

This is interesting... I've never played the Exterminator but if it's ONE weapon destroyed does that mean only 1 of the 2 auto-cannons are destroyed?
And now that you brought it to my attention I'm thinking that the Hydra is a better than an Exterminator. 75 Pts for a Hydra vs 150 for an Exterminator sounds like a good deal.
Exterminator = 48" range Hydra = 72" range
The only advantage I see an Exterminator has to a Hydra is Armor.
Am I seeing something wrong here?

no your not, you can get 2 hydras for the cost of a Exterminator. and 2 tanks is better then 1....and even better that its 4 twin linked autocannons.

AFAIK, the TL-ACs on the Exterminator count as one weapon, so if a weapon destroyed result is scored on an Exterminator, and the opponent chooses the TL-ACs, they're both gone. At least that's how everyone I know has played it whenever I'm using an Exterminator... However, the pintle stubber (if present) would still be operational.

AFAIK, the TL-ACs on the Exterminator count as one weapon, This is true. The exterminatr is armed with ONE twinlinked AC. The hydra however, is armed with TWO twinlinked, extra-range AC.

So in ending : if you have a vehicle with a turret, and on this turret is: main weapon (one or more), pintle and HK and your opponent scores a 'weapon destroyed' just be thankfull his eyes will be drawn to the turret crammed with guns and will ignore the hull/sponsons mounted weapons.
Imperial vehicles - more guns than you waive a long fang unit at.

Imperial vehicles - more guns than you waive a long fang unit at. And this is why I've ended up having to balance a stack of 6 Damage Result counters on a single Chimera that ended up Immobilized, Shaken, and had it's Multi-Laser, Heavy Bolter, Heavy Stubber, and Hunter-Killer Missile taken out by Weapon Destroyed results. Some day, I'll top that with a Russ, but it hasn't happened yet.

Well, to clarify, the Exterminator is equipped with 1 (ONE) Twin-Linked Exterminator Autocannon, giving it its 4 twin-linked shots, so 1 weapon destroyed results kills the gun.
As to the Hydra, other have already pointed out that it has 2 (TWO) Twin-Linked Hydra Autocannons, requiring 2 weapon destroyed results to silence its main guns, though it still has a heavy bolter which also ignores turgo-boost/flat-out saves.

Edit. My bad. Read something wrong in the codex.

Tobacco:
As pr. the codex the Heavy bolter on the hydra do get to use the Auto-targeting System.. I Guess the idea is that the tank has the system, not the guns..

I read it the same way. No different from say, using Pask's BS for all weapons. It's the vehicle that benefits from the special rule, not the weapon.

Crazy I had not realised that on the Hyrda, I had assumed the targeting system only worked on the ACs, I still prefer my Exterminator tho lol.
Yes you can get 2 Hydra for the same cost, but they are much more fragile and less mobile, losing shots if they move..... but I converted my Exterminator a long time ago, so like to use it, Hyrdas are deffo solid choices.
On topic lol. People often just remove their turrets for ease, but yes, just 1 weapon (twin linked are 1 weapon) is destoryed so anything else that might be on the turrent (stubber, smoke luacnhers, HnKs, search lights, etc...) would all remain.

The only exception I believe is if you are using some of the Forge World rules with coaxial weapons. Then one destroyed results removes both the main weapon and its coaxial one.

I thought it gave you the option of 1 or the other, but I may be wrong as I don't have the codex with me.

Heavy Bolter is standard in the Hull Mount. You can't take both a Pintle Storm Bolter and a Pintle Stubber.
