from a fluff point of view or gaming which super heavy would be the first you added to your army and why?
personally i love the look of the Stormlord and the delivery capability of it in a tight terrain game would be awesome!!!
discuss!!!

After a lot of pondering and indecision I eventually opted for the Shadowsword with HQ upgrade, and no sponsons (so 14 AV on sides too)...
My reasoning was based on a fear of other super-heavies and scary super elite apoc units ... I wanted something that could cause a lot of damage to high AV stuff... and having the re-roll for leadership seemed well worth while too.
In reality it puts a lot of points (500 ish) on 1 scatter dice roll to hit, and I found its easier to take out other super-heavies with other stuff than I had imagined... (melta vets in valk / ven work very well).
The Stormlord still appeals to me, to switch the guns on the stromlord / shadowsword is not too difficult...and I'm considering building a whole load of tank riders hunkered down behind ammo crates and other stowage armed with heavy weapons to represent the transported units...
On the other hand the Malcador Infernus is an incredibly fierce weapon, its 18" before you place the firestorm template means it brings flamey death to stuff miles away... and at Strength 7 it worries transports too!.. just watch out as it tends to explode quite easily, though if that happens when its up close to you opponents then that's kinda ok!

For metagaming reasons: Shadowsword, because there are a lot of superheavies in my area.
For general purposes: Baneblade. Nice combo of varied firepower and toughness.
For fluff reasons: The Stormsword, since it's built for heavy fighting in close confines, seems like the only one likely to be deployed alongside my jungle fighters.

For me I have to say it's the Stormlord. Why? Well why not?!? Mega-bolters, the abilaity to move heavy waeopns teams and all other sorts of infantry and being able to just lay down the fire power on foot units rocks. That and I just think it looks cool

This was my reasoning as well many years ago when I bought a FW Stormsword kit. I have yet to finish building it, though, and may just wind up using the plastic version that can be made with the Shadowsword kit...

Just magnetize the Shadowsword kit for multiple options, they will never know what you are bringing!

Defiantly the Shadowsword. Fluffwise my Rzakata isn't delpoyed with tanks, because there simple isn't room to navigate such things. But when they do deploy they use Shadowswords, Crassus Armoured Assault Transport and Preator Armour Assault Launcher. They deploy them where there is tons of open space and there the amazing range of Shadowswords come into play and let them snipe the enemy.

The Baneblade is the most versatile of the plastic superheavies in my opinion, an a 10" pie plate always makes me happy. I have three Malcadors and my Baneblade and my Shadowsword are both better in my opinion. I will get my Crassus on Tuesday and that is deffinately not as good as any of the others. Anyways, Baneblade.

Shadowsword for me. I love that amount of power in one shot. Even if it barely grazes the target it gets full effect. I fitted four sponsons to it and us it as a centrepiece.
Fluff-wise, my regiment comes from a world with a heavy Mechanicus presence. In fact, the Mechanicus sort of caused an apocalypse on Tvashtar, albeit by accident. They gift one shadowsword to every regiment that is raised on Tvashtar.

Fluff-wise, since the Phrygian III equip from Ryza, a StormBlade is the obvious choice. I like the Arkurion pattern better than the Ryza pattern one, though*. Which is all for the best since Forge World don't make the Ryza Pattern one anymore, but less satisfying fluff-wise.
*Oddly enough, I prefer the Ryza pattern over the Arkurion for the Executioner. Something about the way the different designs get scaled to different proportions.

I like the Baneblade for its versaltility and the Shadowsword for the slightly more subtle approach.
However my favourite is the Hellhammer for its cityfighting purposes- the revolving turret seems to make so much more useful in confined quarters than a Stormsword.
I also lime the Marauderer Bomber.

I also lime the Marauderer Bomber. Dropping several tons of citrus fruit on the enemy does tend to alter the flow of a battle somewhat.

I like the big plasma one, I think it's the stormblade(lord?). Non imperial, it would have to go to the manta, it is heavy enough to make your puny 'super heavy' tanks change into the extra light tank class.

I like the big plasma one, I think it's the stormblade(lord?). Yeah, that's the StormBlade. My first choice, fluff-wise as well. The StormLord is the one with the Vulcan Mega Bolter, and is my first choice based on looks.
