IG has one of the largest model ranges in 40K. Only Space Marines have more, and they have several Codexs. While you want more Plastic Regiments, you ain't gonna get them.
IG is also strongly supported by FW, with full model ranges for two regiments (Kreig and Elyians), and conversion kits for another (Tallarn).
While we'd all like more regiments, quite frankly, the IG really doesn't need any more, and are unlikely to get any until the next update/large campaign.
We also got Vostroyans relatively recently, which is the first new Regiment in years.

Don't really see the problem.. As Hookah says, we have one of the largest ranges in the game.. + Alot of fantasy models work well if you wanna create a more "unique" theme.. + There is alot of other games out there where you'd be able to find "grunts" in the correct size..
Personally i use models as chess pieces, cadians all.. It really depends on what you are in the hobby to do.. Paint to play or play to paint --> that old talk..

Or they could just make an upgrade sprue with 10 Longcoat legs, 10 Steel legion heads, Some original bits and pieces and voila.
Instant new regiment.

i'd love to see the tanith done in plastics as i want to collect them. i have to say though although there are a lot out there for guard there should be and i dont think you can say there are enough when the planets guard a recruited from are so vast and varying. and i know your going to say that it is the same for SM but to do it for them is as simple as changing the colour you paint them.
the fact there are so many companies out there providing conversion parts out there is a good thing but if you play GW tournaments and want your army to look diffferent you have a lot of work to do.

Tanith would be easy, there is no "expensive" special weapons, with Catachan + Cadian bits and Green stuff cloaks, you'd be good to go..
If you wanted more long haired guys to fit with the Tanith theme.. Go look at some fantasy militia men or flagellants..

What I'm noticing is how similar the price is between plastic cadian catachan and the Vostroyan... it makes collecting the very cool vostroyan models even more tempting.
add the 'collectors' sets of Steel Legion, Mordian and Tallarn, and the Forge World Krieg and Elysian ranges and it starts to be quite a lot of guard to choose from.
then, on top of all this 'official' stuff is the various small independent companies producing models that can be used (either with or without conversion) - the IG codex is quite clear that the regiments of guard come from all manner of different cultures and homeworlds giving a massive scope of potential models to use.. (my favourite being the boxes of 30 Napoleon soldiers for about a tenner! - though I cannot remember who makes them).

Look at it from GW's perspective (no, I don't mean put on a top hat and bathe in a bath of money) model lines are relatively expensive to make, and while IG are a popular army (and one of the most expensive), it really doesn't make much financial sense to have lots of lines. Of course this, being an IG board, we'd all like more minis (I'd personally love some plastic Vostroyans); but honestly, it's not really fair to other factions.

It is possible that they'll do a new finecast regiment if thry aren't planning on changing the current metal regiments into finecast.

I think that if they're going to do a new regiment, as unlikely as it is, it will be in the form of conversion kits as chem suggested. That way they can charge a lot more per squad.

I'm sorry, but it seems like an awful lot of whining. As has been stated, the IG have more than enough lines. Would I like the see the metal lines made into plastic or finecast? Absolutely. But there comes a point when we have to be thankful for what we have, which is one of the most diverse range of models. I don't know about you, but I can do an AWFUL lot with those Cadian/Catachan bits, and a little imagination.
I realize that not everyone has a lot of experience for modeling, and in that regard, I understand the complaint. But lets think about it in a more positive way. Here is the perfect opportunity to get good using GS and all those "advanced modeling techniques." I didn't attain what skills I have in modeling magically...I just dove right into projects...right up to my neck. I don't mean to flame anyone with this post. Its just there are quite a few armies, that people like that have had far fewer updates. (The dark eldar went almost 2 editions without a new codex, let alone new models.) When life gives you lemons....
PS-Again, I'm not trying to attack anyone, so I apologize if I have offended.

I would love the mordians and tallarn to get plastic kits as they are the two regiments i collect lol, ive been put off buying more infantry for them as i worry they will just cut them from the collectors range soon. + if they were general release plastic kits i would be able to pick them up from a discount online store, at the minute 10 mordians with lasguns and a crappy save against everything just aint worth £25 english pounds, I remember tallarn metals coming in packs of 15 including 1 heavy weapons team for around £15, ah the good old days! lol

When RT speaks, you sit up and listen!
But yeah, I would love so see some new regiments (steel legion). It won't happen like, and if it did it would be another excuse for a price hike!
