Stormtroopers army

Hey fellas,

so, I've been interest in doing a Stormtrooper regiment, but the only two ways I found to actually make them would be using these:

or using the Metal Stormtroopers. Do you guys have any idea on what to do?

Well that depends on your budget and how much (or little) variety you want with your army. You could use the Stormtrooper and Kasrkin models to represent the actual Elite Stormtroopers (with the Hot-Shot Lasguns and all). For troops you would be using Grenadiers (Carapace armor + Lasguns) so in my opinion the metal Stormtroopers and Kasrkin could represent both the Grenadiers and the Stormtroopers. Depends on how much variety you want.

As a modeller I don't really consider the Hostile Environment kit to really represent Stormtroopers but as a Gamer I wouldn't mind.

Also how big do you plan to make your regiment? Were you thinking just 1-3 squads or fullblown full Troops and Elite choices?

I've been thinking of investing into a full Carapace Armored Company myself but I was planning on using a large variety of models. I've already made conversions mixing Imperial with Tau parts as well as Imperial with Eldar parts (as an experiment) but was considering investing in:

The Engineers would have been my Shotgun options but it's a really heavy investment that I am personally not ready for yet.

There's also the option of using Space Marine scouts. The Shotgun Scouts could be used to represent Grenadiers with Shotguns and the Snipers could represent the Stormtroopers with Hot-Shot Lasguns, all with a little conversion work.

Vostroyans could represent Grenadiers with Lasguns.
