Update time! I know its been a while but finally got my CCS finished. The light quality is appalling in the UK at the moment so they aren't the greatest pics, tried to brighten a few up. On with the pics: Whole Squad Vox Sniper Vets Standard Commander with bodyguard As always, comments welcomed!

Absolutely gobsmacked. I've been using my left over standards as practice for the one on the model and I'm not doing too well. That one there looks perfect, really nice coverage and very clean. Dead impressed.

Wow that flag looks awesome. Don't get me wrong they all do but the detail on the flag is outstanding.

Thanks guys! Glad you like the standard, its my favourite model so far. I have another infantry squad, two sentinals and some stormtroopers on my desk, not sure what I'll get done first!
Emperor- I only made the cloak on the officer! The snipers are older metal models. For the khaki ( I assume you just mean the fatugues) I start off with a base layer of codex grey, followed my a heavy black wash, then drybrush codex grey again followed by a couple of layers of thin black wash.
I'm confused about Barry the commissar!?

Superbly done sir, that banner is a work of art!
Purely out of interest, how do you paint that excellent causican-ish skin tone?

Thanks again, glad you appreciate my work Shostak - I'm not exactly sure what the precise recipe is for my skin tone, I can never remember, i'm sure it changes each time! Its something like a basecoat of bronzed flesh or darker felsh tone then a layer of paler flesh tone, somthing like elf flesh, I highlight or two with a mix of elf and white and then a few washes. I have a pot of old fashioned flesh wash which i use all the time! It quite often needs a touch of washing up liquid just to break the surface tension so it doesn't blob together. Hope that helps.

The colours work really well together, a kind of morose swamp feel to them. I like the thickness of the colours used. Good job !
