Hi, I'm trying to find out ways of making vinyl tank tracks better, I know there are individual tank track sets that can be used to replace vinyl ones, but these cost as much as the kit I'm looking at (the Hanomag by Tamiya), and bring the price up to the same as GW's transport models - either chimera or ork trukks. In the link below there are some of these kits alongside chimera, you will have to scroll down quite a way and it is image heavy - its quite a cool looking collection to look at! s4.invisionfree.com/Boot_Camp/ar/t9540.htmI've tried super-glue, but the joins break to easily and the loop of tracks spring back into an unrealistic looking oval shape. Does Araldyte work? I'm wondering if using a Soldering Iron to gently melt the vinyl tracks at the points where they need to bend, and then repositioning the track while it is soft? I'm considering digging though my old spares for track sections, I've seen some Ork track sections using old leman russ / chimera track and it looked effective, though it'll be harder to get a neater finish suitable for Imperial Vehicles: www.belloflostsouls.net/2011/12/40k-hobby-scratch-building-counts-as.htmlthesabreanddice.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.htmlWhile this looks cool, I do have some vinyl tracked kits that are unfinished, if there are ways of using them rather than re-designing them I'd love to hear it!

Honestly, I've stopped fussing with the stock vinyl tracks that come with tank models, and go all out for the metal upgrade kits. Yes they are expensive, and are a bit of a pain to put together, but they look totally awesome when completed and placed on the model.
