Well 'ello everyone tis I, your resident pet!
A few months ago GW showed an Iron Hands army on their website that had lots of added detail take from watch parts, all the tiny gears etc.
I loved this idea and so I've recently taken a few watches apart and collected lots of tiny fiddly parts ;D
However, I now can't decide on what to do with them. I'm bored of normal Space Marines, and I just want something different. I really want to use the gear theme though.
Any thoughts? Any different models out there I can convert and use in 40k for something?

Hello there Cosmic.
Iron warriors chaos space marines?? They have the whole bionic thing going on.
Or skitarii could be good too. A bunch of adeptus mechanicus would have lots of bionics, gears and all out funky bits.

Do these look any good? Not GW (and slightly more expensive) but they do do some good ranges

I was thinking Iron Warriors, but I hate the current CSM models, I would prefer a Heresy-era Iron Warriors force, but the cost would be astronomical! Empirespy: They look great! Where are they from? Link?

They are from the game warzone: the mutant chronicles. If i recall correctly they are cybertronic chasseurs and shock troops. I like the current chaos marines, but that's a matter of taste so no go . Maybe base them on grey knight models? Would be a pain to de-imperialize them though. What about sisters of battle, don't they get something like arco flaggelants or stuff? And penitent engines. Those need gears ...

sorry Iforgot the link here it is LINKSpot on the money there Peter They're quite expensive as they're metal, but then again, after reviewing there prices, a ten man squad with heavy weapon and sergeant for around £25, it's better than GW prices for metal.

Ad Mech. Simply because that'd be what I would like to do and I know you'll do a good job of it. Those Iron Hands were amazing, I had to save them in my 'inspiration' folder Iron Warriors are also very cool though (definately my favourite bad guys) so I'll be equally pleased if you run with that idea (and there would be hazard stripes! ;D )

They went under, but you can still get the models.
