What's better for smaller games (500-750) points, a leman russ with the big plasma turret (sorry, I forgot what it's called) or a bane wolf? I don't know if this is the right part of the forum so sorry if it isn't but it's about tanks so I figured it would be the best place to go.

Neither lad, if u want some heavy bang for smaller games take one standard russ (battle tank) without sponsoos and blast them until kingdom come . The executioner (big plasma gun) is too expensive for smaller gamer. I hope it helps.

I found the Demolisher with hull flamer suits small games. The Demolisher cannon annihilates all infantry and last resort it can also be used to take out other vehicles. Just make sure to give it some support like attatching a veteran squad to counter.

We can't post the actual point cost on the forum, or GW will get mad at us. I can say it's the same cost as a basic platoon or a Vendetta, though...

My points for smaller games goes into a standard Leman Russ with just a stormbolter upgrade. It is versatile enough to deal with most problems you´ll encounter in smaller games. Just remember that it will also be a top priority of a good enemy commander to take it out, so deploy and protect it well.

If we can say the names of stuff, why can't we post point values?

Because a name is a name, and points costs allow people to play the game without buying a codex, which GW frowns on. They're kinda different things. Reds

For 500 Points if you like fielding armour I would suggest.
Option 1:
HQ Company Command Squad
TROOPS 2 Veteran Squads
HEAVY SUPPORT 2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks
Comes to a total of 490 points, throw around an upgrade or two then bingo, bongo we have ourselves an effective list.
Option 2:
HQ Primarius Psyker
TROOPS 2 Veteran Squads 2 Chimeras (Turret Multi Lasers, Hull Heavy Flamers)
HEAVY SUPPORT Leman Russ Demolisher
Comes to 485 points either list is fun to play, but I prefer option 1 nobody expects 2 armour 14 vehicles on the field in a 500 point game.

For smaller games, 750 points or less, I have found the Leman Russ exterminator with heavybolter sponsons and a lascannon great. The twin link auto cannon and lascannon pop open lesser armor with ease.
