So.. this was going to be my GG entry... The reason I built it was to eliminate the problem of moving lots of infantry.. the Imperium have Gorgons... this is My Big Mek's version... its a fair bit bigger then a Gorgon!! Here are some experimental rules that got discussed a while back... these don't really reflect the project as it stands now, but show the idea that was rattling around my kan... commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=General&action=display&thread=13191Much work and many many bits have gone into... with plenty more still to come!! At some point I'll put all the Grot Artillery units along the back section, with the Lootas up the fron so you can see how rediculously over-gunned this 'transport' can become! A quote from an earlier discussion regarding this creation: Imperial Master of Ordnance: "repeat! - did you really just dare tell me that the ork fortress we've been shelling for the last hour just upped and moved out of range?" It still isn't finished... but here's a preview:

Wow. Thats impressive. Very well done. Can we get a picture with a couple of orks on it for size comparison?

I love the giant tires, I can imagine a Mek with a visible exclamation mark over his head when he thought of the idea.

I got round to making the engine section at the rear... (yes, it is powered by Yakult!! as requested I have put the Fortress against a Battlewagon (which some of you might recognise) and a ShadowSword for size comparison. Also a close up on the 2 turrets too. I need to add a fair amnount of detail to the underneath of the thing, since it'll be getting a fair bit of attention (it's high enough that models without banners or their arms in the air can be placed under it).. maybe there should be a rule about 'going to ground' prevents tank shock? I still have loads of smaller gubbins to attach to the Fortress, like tools, chains, more glyphs, teef, dead marines, splatted guardsmen on the tyres, and lots and lots of snitling crew scampering about the place. I think the next photo needs to have something coming down the ramp.. I think it'll accomodate Killa Kans and War Buggies fairly well.... I'm now waiting for a nice warm day to spray paint the thing (everything is currently covered in snow))... so it'll be a while.

More Teeth and other gubbins added to the mouth / assault ramp / door flap / front bit thingy I want to add a load of chain, but as yet haven't worked out a good way to do it... The weather is improving, It might get sprayed soon.. I need to then start adding the crew which will be permanent additions to the lower levels (manning the guns, tinkering with tools, snarling, picking bogies, fightin each other etc).

How about using pins to pin the chain to the wood board stuff. Those ones you use to pin phone cables might do the trick.
