Hi all. I know I should have been working on my renegades, but last night I felt like painting for paintings sake, and so I dug out an old LoTR model I have and set to work, finishing him this afternoon after school. I'm really proud with him and feel that he's one of the best models I've painted yet, but I know that I'm hardly up to the standard of even some of the painters on this forum that consider themselves mediocre, and am looking to improve. While I know that practice is the best solution, any simple tips or advice some of you more experienced painters could give would be appreciated. Many thanks. Shostak.

Looks okey. I would give it a wash of Devlan Mud or similar to get some of the details to show. That and maybe some blood and rust on the blade. Except for that, jobs a good'un. I like the mud and grass base.
