So, after looking at the new thunderwolf models, I was wondering what base size would be best for rough riders. I am at the stage where it is really easy to change the bases of my models, so I want to see what people think. Here is a list of different 40k models and what size base they use:
GW Attilan Rough Riders - Squared Cavalry Bases DKOK Death Riders - 40mm Round (I think) Thunderwolf Cavalry - 60mm Round Fenrisian Wolves - 40mm Round Seekers of Slaanesh - Bike Bases
I sort of feel that 40mm round would be a better size than the bike bases that I am currently using. They always feel a bit ungainly, whilst giving me an unfair advantage in getting all my models into combat.
Thoughts?

...GW Attilan Rough Riders - Squared Cavalry Bases... ...Thoughts? I think that if you're worried about any unfair advantage you're giving to yourself via bases for your rough riders, then go with the cavalry base. If GW's Rough Riders have the squared cavalry base, then that is the fairest one to use. I'd personally use the bike base, as it's more '40k' than the square one, and is a similar size (I think).

I agree, and consider how f*ked up you'd get in combat with 60mm bases......

I'm using oval bases from blue magnet for my rough riders. I like to stick with round bases for 40k and the oval bases match well with the size of the actual mounts I'm using.

40mm round is the best to use aesthetically.
