I played this game a little while ago so it'll be brief.. but I took a load of photo's so thats my main reason for posting, so you can have a look at xenos killing one another without the imperium having to use a single bullet.
The eldar recieved notification that an ork force was heading their way, scouts had discovered exactly what was in the force and this had given the commander plnty of time to organise his forces to meet the threat.
the orks on the other hand were oblivious, knowing only that they'd seen scouts but had been unable to shoot them before they got away.
(I sent my mate my army list and told him to make a list to take it on, and not tell me what he was bringing)
A dry river bed, eldar advancing on the right, orks from the left.
Ork Deployment
Eldar Deployment
Ork turn 1
Tearing round the flanks a couple fo trukks close on the eldar position.
meanwhile, a mass of kans, dreds, trukks and a battlewagon get in the way of each other as they all try to get to the enemy first.
One trukk charges ahead of the others to create a screen.
Eldar turn 1
the ldar advance on the orks
Meanwhile the Writhlord and Avatar close on the klanking wall of kans
Ork turn 2
making use of an opportunity, the Warboss and Nobz disembark and head toward the wave serpent that has attempted to falnk their position. the battlewagon they had been riding in fails to do anything with its defffrolla against the skimmer, and due too a playet error, (thinking all hits vs vehilces work like grenades, ie: only 1) the eldar skimmer is only mildly disadvantaged by the loss of its TL missile launcher.
elsewhere more skimmers are dodging trukks
Eldar turn 2
The 2nd wave serpent unloads 3 wraithguard a warlock and farseer. The farseer heads for the Mek with plans to take him down in close quaters.
supporting te assault are a number of dug in guardians who continue to blast away at the orks, targetting the kans on the bridge with their missile launcher.
they also gain reinforcements from the flank, a war walker with scatter lasers makes short work of the nearest trukk.
The wave serpent near the warboss also moved up onto the bridge in front of the killa kans, leaving the warboss behind to be shot at by some swooping hawks. (whose airbourne grenade had done a lot of damage to 2 squads of massed greenskin).
This waveserpent then dispensed its contents in the form of fire dragons, which made short work of the kans in front of them.
Ork turn 3
the kans made a desperate scamble into combat with the wraithlord and avatar, which was a mistake. elsewhere other boys were failing to make any effect on the fire prism with their 1 attack (see earleir) and the warboss made his way toward a bunch of swooping hawks whom had landed near him.
over on the flank, a squad of boys set their sights on charging the warwalker
meanwhile the kans get pulverised by the eldar heaviy walkers
Eldar turn 3
the wraithgurad contiue to cause havoc upon anything near them
and having suffered few casualities can rain death upon the orks
ork turn 4
the boys engage the war walker but fail to make akilling blow
while the other orks struggle to effect the eldar vehilces
the warboss fares a little better when he tears the flappy eldar to pieces in visious combat
while the driver of the boss's wagon tries to ram both eldar creatures with the deffrolla, but only manages to crush a killa kan that was in the way.
with his boys surrounded or dead, his kans in smoking bits and his favourite wagon about to be torn to shreds, the boss decides discretion is the better part of valour and leggs it.
later that night the warboss discovers that waveserpents have energy fields, which don't work in close combat, and that waveserpents don't have holofields which cause 2 dice to be rolled and the lowest chosen...
...after a few fungus beers he wonders what a dice is, and why choing the lowest would matter?
all in all it was a great game, I lost, and my friend won..
we agreed to play again, keeping 1k the same and changing 500 points... the same mistakes will not occur.
Mwahahahahah
