Looks great..good work
If you are going to sub in model kits 1/48 scale is what you want not 1/35

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Everything is starting to come together. keeler actually we had a discussion about this on the forum in another thread and from what I have scene it all depends on the original vehicle size. Case in point. My 1/35th Stryker Ashot's 1/35 scout vehicle. I can't remember what vehicle it is at the moment. Both kits are based in 1/35 scale to real life counter parts. I'm not saying you are wrong however I do feel that the 1/35 kits I use much better represent a vehicle that can carry a 12 man squad plus crew. I am also making custom rules for it so I will compensate for it's size points wise. Thank you tho for the suggestion.

Okay got some progress done tonight. All four tanks are painted/drybrushed/highlighted. They all have at least one gun to use. Still finishing up the rest of the main guns. Thanks to Cosmic's tutorial I also tried out doing the glass on the turrets. For my first time I guess they came out alright. Hoping to fully finish all four tanks tomorrow. I will also take better pictures tomorrow in the sunlight the flash inside took out all the wash/highlighting that was done. Tried to do a plasma glow on the front of the barrel but I'm not to sure about it. Anyone have some tips to make it look better? Using the longer Vanquisher barrel as a stand in battle cannon because I like the FW Vanquisher turret better. I also ordered some small magnets to make the barrels interchangeable. So they will actually not look all droopy. Things are coming along nicely.

Thanks everyone.
@cosmic if you don't mind could you tell me how you did your plasma cannon glow. Mine didn't really come out that well, and I am wondering what I could do to make it look better.

The problem with your Plasma Cannon is that it looks like you dipped it in blue paint. It doesn't 'glow'. Also, a glow would not affect the outer shroud of the Cannon like you've painted, it would only affect the inner surfaces. The problem I have with OSL inside the actual barrels, is that the real life shadow always ruins it and the effect won't really happen. If you want to try, then work from a middle shade, to a white, directly inside the barrel and the vents. Don't paint around the end at all I'll see if I can doodle up a diagram a bit later.

I like the look of these tanks. Simple scheme but really effective. Will you be putting unit markings on them? Can I make a suggestion? It's something simple that I think will improve the look of the lenses on the cupola. If you put the dot in one of the top corners (over black) and have the highlighting up to a thin white line in the opposite corner I think it will improve the look tenfold. The following pic is a bit blurry but hopefully it outlines what I'm on about. Keep up the good work!

In fact that does look better. I might fix them when I go back a touch up the few spots I missed. I will be doing squad markings but as of yet I don't know what I am going to do or how I am going to do it. Still have to name these guys also.

Well it's been a while and after a lot of ups and downs in the past few months I have in fact decide to continue my army. I have a few interesting things coming in the next few months, don't expect too much as this has taken a back seat to my other hobby.
Coming up in the next few updates will include 4 chimeras, the finishing of my heavy weapons squads, my entry into the festive fever golden guardsman paint comp. These are what I have going on right now. Hoping by the end of the year to add about 60 more guardsman, 2 valks, and a baneblade or 2.
I don't have pics now but I received 3 chimeras and a hellhound, which will be converted into a chimera, yesterday that I thought were painted in my scheme. Plan was to due some touch ups and dry brushing however upon opening of the box it turns out lighting had payed a trick on my eyes. The chimeras were all just washed with a sephia was. They weren't even primed just washed over the plastic. The hell hound is the same was but in a little worse for wear. It is an older version of the hellhound so it has the classic tracks which are missing quite a few treds. So i think i am going to turn that into a wheeled chimera, or just look for treds on ebay and fix them.
Right now the hellhound is taken mostly apart to be constructed at a later date. As for now I am going to start paint correction this weekend on the chimeras if time allows. I will update this tomorrow with pics to show you what I am working with.
I am also hoping to get in the last of the bits and green stuff I need for my GG entry. The GG comp is actually what made me want to get back into painting. This will also mark my first attempt using greenstuff so that should be fun. Of course no one can see what I am working on as per the rules, but I will be sure to show off the stuff once the comp is over.
Also forgot to add been keeping in contact with Cosmic and the Tauros vehicles are sounding more and more awesome. Really can't wait to get them in.

Okay picture time. I was going to save these guys for the GG: Festive Fever comp however my other hobby is currently getting in the way of finishing up these guys so I will just post them here. A few pages back I showed an idea I had about making some vets with necron face masks. Well I decided to go along with the idea but in a different way. I wanted the vets to look light on their feet but yet still armored up like a vet squad would be. So using Maxmini torsos and legs with anvil-industry arms and shot guns I have the beginnings of my vet squad. Still have to go back and add a few details on the bodys, add the arms and figure out the mask situation, but I am really happy with how these are coming together. They are going to be shotgun vets with some meltas mixed in. Waiting on the meltas but here are the anvil-industry shotguns. And yes they are single and double barreled Here is my first try at working with greenstuff so bare with me lol. Wanted to do beefy shoulder pads like the normal GWIG have since the Anvil arms didn't have them. I have to go out and get some files and sculpting tools to really get better, but I think for a first try things could be worse haha. As I said I am still trying to figure out how to work the Necron mask angle. I am going to due it, it's just a lot of trial and error. I am also going to be sanding down the arms to not make them as bulky. Here is a current standing WIP for these guys. The bases are pretty sweet as well. I am going to be spending a lot of money at Anvil with how these came out. As I said I am still waiting on a few things to finish these guys up which is why I am not entering them into the comp. I also have to get some more supplies and random bits to complete the trial and error with the Necron masks. So look for an update on these guys in the coming weeks. Now onto the second work in progress my Chimeras. The stryker idea didn't really come to fruition like I had hoped so I scrapped the idea. Was foot slogging my guys on the field for a bit in games and decided I needed transports. Found a decent deal on what I thought was desert colored chimeras on ebay. Well the deal was still good got 4 for the price of 2 1/2. However they were not in fact painted. The plastic was just washed with a sephia wash. Man I tell you the power of proper lighting when taking pictures makes all the difference lol. Ebay pics And this is what they looked like when I got them. The hellhound has been completely stripped down. The treads were a mess worse then I thought. So I am going to be buying the wheeled conversion kit for that one to see how I like it. If I do like it the other 3 might get the same treatment down the road, but for not they are primed and awaiting paint. Work in progress 3. Still slacking on my heavy weapons guys, but fear not I am awaiting the bases for them now and should have them finished when time allows.
