I'm trying to build the Basilica Administratum picture (circled in red) and am having trouble... The pieces don't quite fit together very well. Are there instructions that I'm missing, I don't want to have to cut if I don't need to

I think yuou'll have to trim it down a little to get a good joint or try adding some of the spare supports to give you a better connection.
Sadly this seems to be the price of an otherwise very flexible kit.

hi Stovrose,
it's to do with the floor sections, i recently built the whole imperial sector kit and the only issue was adding the flooring before the wall 'footprint' was completed. if you can remove the flooring or cut it then the walls fit together and put the flooring in over them, sometimes the floors need a bit of 'shaving' to get a snug fit.
hope this helps.

I've done a lot of buildings - trying to fill a 4x6 in city... it's proving difficult! Although the GS buildings are great there are one or two minor problems and you just found the biggest one - cornering. When they designed the modular system (90% of the time it works great) they didn't take into account 90 degree angles, let alone 45 degree ones. But what the guys say is right. You either cut cut cut or in most of the sets there are extra long metal beams - these can be added to form a better joint. However then your flooring won't fit.
I'll see if I can take some pics and post them on some of the solutions I've come up with.
