With the crack shot rule does the bonus 1+ for AP work against troops and mechs or just mechs?
If so, does AP- Become AP6?

Crack Shot applies only to Armour Penetration Rolls, not the Armour Penetration value of the Weapon. So he'd roll d6+8 to penetrate Armour with an Exterminator's main gun rather than d6+7 as normal.
Unfortunately, GW uses the same term (Armour Penetration) to mean two different things. Digging into the context here makes it clear that they only mean one of those in this case, tho.

I thought it was like this:
+1 to the damage table for vehicles Ex. Roll a 4(Immobilized),+1, becomes a 5(wrecked)
and re-roll to wound vs Monstrous Creatures.
(no codex in front of me)

The Tank Hunter special rule and AP1 guns (such as melta guns) will +1 to the damage roll (such as in shifty60's example)
Pask's Crack Shot will act as Westrider explained, it will effectivly increase the strength of a weapon by 1 when rolling to beat its armour. (plus the re-roll against monsterours critters).
Crack Shot is also a skill held by certain eldar (dark reapers), which has different effects entirely! (ignores cover saves and also re-rolls to wound).

The Tank Hunter USR is also +1 on the Penetration Roll, not the Damage Table. Note that, because Tank Hunter and Crack Shot don't actually increase the strength of the shot, they can get you to an effective Strength of 9 against Wave Serpents and anything else that might come out with a similar Energy Field. I do have the books in front of me, btw  |

Tank Hunter has nothing to do with Pask. Crack Shot is the part of that that has to do with Pask.
Tank Hunter just happens to work the same in that one case and was being discussed anyhow, so I included it.
