So i really like the idea of the priests. I mean two handed chainsword sounds pretty cool. Unfortunantly delivering them to their targets, (Tanks) might be a bit of a problem but I was wondering if outflanking them might offer a soultion.
What i wanted to do was put three in a giant 50 man commissar blob, use Creed with the astropath and outflank them. Then I wanted to Run Al Rahim with a big platoon with the GL/AC loadout along side them. I figure Manticores for HS should keep the enemy from bunching up too much in the middle but that with that many troops coming in from the flanks I would be able to keep my opponent off guard.
I really love the way my priest s are painted so I'm just trying to get them into the battle, does this seem like it might work to anyone else or am I just going too crazy here...

You could always drop the priests out of Valkyries and Vendettas. Not terribly reliable mind you but still an option.
In addition, they can come out separate than the squad with them.

And you can stick the priest in a special weapon squad with flamers or the such to "give him some more wounds" They all fit in a valkyrie

Ah ha! that sounds like a pretty good idea actually definatly more versitile than what i was planning. I usually put melta vets in my Gunships and scout them up, so i guess a priest with them, plus the vendetta s guns, plus the melta vets should tear mech folks up pretty well.

that's a little overkill no? If you have them in a vendetta i would not use them with meltavets. A priest was made for close combat, and meltavets have almost half of their points invested in shooting weapons. Melta's are assault but still. and if the vehicle goes boom, you might as well have it shower a cheap squad instead of a pricey one

What I was saying is you could drop more than one priest in different places using the Valk/Vend on the same turn. Although the downside is losing the ability to move after the deepstrike(you could still run) but then again 2 priests running headlong towards 2 separate vehicles is actually kind of cool. And you would STILL have the vets embarked.
Think of it this way; would the opponent shoot at the priest at such his low point cost yet his easy ability to wreck vehicles in CC OR would they shoot at the Valk/Vend and still get the vehicle wrecked by the priest?
I've never tried this tactic and it seems suicidal but you never know it looks viable...maybe.

The only problem I see is that each priest would give a Kill Point in 1/3 of the standard games you'd play, for such a squishy model.
Don't get me wrong, he's relatively cheap and likewise so should every other expendable "drop in your face" unit the IG uses, which also likely give up a KP after hosing down a vehicle - but the thing is, a shooty unit of Stormtroopers or a SWS grav-chuted in will get a turn of shooting off, and may kill something.
But on a serious note: Flying Priests. FUND IT

Flying Priests! I wasnt going to have him attack the same thing as the vets, he would probably leave their unit when he disembarked and go after another vehicle. That way if 3 enemy vehicles are togeather, Vendetta fires at one, melta vets fire at one, then the priest charges another. I really hope it works, my priests usually dont do much more than sit on my shelf looking like badasses.
