This weekend I have a 2000 pt rematch with a necron player at my local store. I have a rather odd (Reserve) Guard army which caused him lots of problems before but when i picked up a few more infantrymen last week he told me he would have one of the new large walkers (Defiler looking thing) and a squad of necron bikes (necrons on bikes wtf?)
Anyway, In our last game he ran about 20 warriors, two ghost arcs, the stormlord, immortals, and some kind of lord on a command barge pretty effectivly. The rest of his army was pretty ineffective and I assume will be dropped for his new toys and more of the warriors and ghost arcs.
Has anyone played against any of these units particularly the bikes or walker? Are there any other really nasty things he could bring to battle? He has pretty much every necron unit, and seemed upset to lose with his new codex last time so i expect him to be bringing the toughest thing he can put togeather.
My list has 3 venndettas, two of which carry melta vets, a creed astro CCS, 4 naked russ, and a tooled up platoon with an angry blob. From a tactical standpoint necrons lacked long range shooting last time so my reserve deployment may not be as useful as usual. I dont want to change my list to fight him but some advice on target priority, and perhaps the capabilities of his new toys would be much appriciated.

The walker (Triarch Stalker) is mostly only an indirect threat. Its gun can fire as (essentially) either two Multi-Meltas or a Twin-Linked Heavy Flamer.
The bigger threat from it is the fact that if it scores a Hit on a Unit, every other Necron Unit firing at that Unit later in the Turn gets to count their Weapons as Twin-Linked.
But it's just an AV 13 Walker with no special Deployment options or anything to help it get into Range quickly, and with the way the gun is underslung, it's nearly impossible for the thing to get Cover. Pretty easy to kill, honestly.
The Tomb Blade Jetbikes have a few different options that can have them serving several different Roles. None of them are hugely scary, tho. They're basically a harassment Unit in one form or another.
The main things I can see him bringing that might start causing problems are Heavy Support options. Annihilation Barges bring a lot of Anti-Infantry Firepower (which can also threaten AV12), Doomsday Arks can sling S9 AP1 Large Blasts out to 72", and Monoliths don't do huge amounts of damage, but are far from ignorable, and pretty obnoxious to get rid of.
Basically, when you're going up against 'Crons, you want to be sure you can handle a whole mess of AV13, one way or another. Your Opponent may have come to a different conclusion, but when I look through the Necron Dex, the ability to put up a massive wall of AV13 that puts out a scary amount of Firepower is the main thing that jumps out at me. Anything else they can bring, any balanced list should be able to cope with. Oh, and you mentioned Imotekh, so Searchlights are probably worth picking up on anything that can take them.

Sounds like that shouldnt be too tough to deal with then. I think our last game he just had crazy luck with the WBB rules. Took all 4 russ a good 3 turns of shooting to take down his warriors. Thanks for the info on the bikes and walker, i know he definatly will have them. He had mentioned the Annihilation Barge but if he got any it will only be one and ill have to try and wreck it early.
Searchlights should help out alot, I expect to see Imotekh again as that lightening killed a vendetta, my CCS and a Vet squad. Thanks for the info though, glad to hear those walkers are short ranged!

WBB can be frustrating. Remember that if it's just down to the Models with Everliving (i.e. all the regular Warriors in a Squad are down), they can't roll for Reanimation Protocols and the Unit just gets pulled. Focused fire to drop entire Units in a single phase is key.
Remember also that if he uses a Solar Pulse to turn Night Fight off during one of his Shooting Phases, he doesn't get Lightning that turn, and similarly, he won't get the lightning if he uses a Solar Pulse to turn Night Fight on after Imotekh's Night Fight has faded.
One Annihilation Barge isn't that bad. It's when there are three of them that they're rolling enough Dice that the Tesla Rules really start to kick in and become scary.
I was looking over someone else's Necron List on another site earlier, and realized that the Triarch Stalker can take a longer-ranged Gun. It's just a TL Heavy Gauss Cannon, tho, which isn't all that scary. And it makes it more expensive and it's still not too hard to kill.

Rule one with Necrons has always been "Stonk the everloving crap out of a single unit."
Also, remember that cowering in terror on the objective is always an acceptable solution. Especially with officer-enhanced cowering.

Many good things has been said.. One thing i'd like to point out is that Warriors and Immortals arn't fearless.. Neither is any attatched lords.. (Imotekh) so weaken resolve from the PBS can prove very costly for your opponent..

Thanks everybody, these are all good points. My opponent played his warriors as fearless last time, ill have to let him know that they are not. I just kinda went along with it figuring it made sense for robots. Since that s the case that big group of warriors should be alot eaiser to take down.
Our last game my cowering skills saved the day haha I actually got to use "Incoming!" on my Platoon sitting in cover on my obj on turn 6 saving the day haha felt pretty cool since I think that s the only time ive ever issued that order.

At no point have Necron warriors been fearless. Hit him with the codex!

At no point have Necron warriors been fearless. Hit him with the codex! Or rather, hit him with a Psker Battle Squad. They can't use their reanimation Protocols if they are running away, says so in their book. Just be glad your friend has not discovered Wraiths yet. He could field 18 of these in a 2000 point army, and crush you. I am still looking for an effective counter to wraiths.

Wraiths..
Use S8 against them.. Yes they have a 3++, but they will insta gib against S8.. Playing IG, we have S8 out the rear armor..
He won't bring Scarabs if he brings that many wraiths, so he will rely on them to do some of the heavy lifting (anti armor wise), so you can focus on them early on = very easy target priority.. Wraiths, CCB and Anni Barges..
Blob squads will be able to tie them up for quite some time, if you need some speed bumb units..
