Y'alright. I am slightly confuzzled with what's going on here. I only bought these a few days back and it's only really been the first time I've used them but whenever they dry they take this shape: It also does this after the first stroke of paint onto a model. Really confusing me. Can't tell if this is normal or not , doesn't seem it as it ruins the painting after 1 stroke and forces me to wash the brush again to get it to conform into it's usual shape without it painting lines over everything. Ta. EDIT: Here is a picture of it while wet.

I'd imagine this is down to dry paint between the bristles, someone will be able to confirm this but I used to have similar problems. Now I clean my brush right I dont have this problem.

Could be as Foster has said, you can give them a clean in boiling water to completely clean them. How are you storing them? It looks like you've put them bristle-down in a pot or something and they've frayed.

This literally happend within the first usage. I bought them, left them on my desk, went on holiday for 3 days. Came back, dipped it into water, dipped it into my White paint, tried Brushing and this occured. Will try using the boiling water then and report back. Edit: also seeing how you are here Cosmic and you are pretty damn good at painting do you have any idea how the painter of these achieved it; images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/11/10/154278_md-Cadians%2C%20Imperial%20Guard.JPGI am fascinated by this colour scheme. But I just can't figure out how he achieved the shading on that white... Was just wondering if you could give a rough guide of what he did and how it was painted on. If not, then don't worry about it was just curious

It looks like a very, very light beige colour with a pure White highlight. I haven't familiarised myself with the new GW paint names as I use Vallejo so I can't give you specific colours, but it may be something like a mixture of Kommando Khaki + White, with either a light Grey wash or a pale Brown, and then a final strong highlight of White.
I can't be any more specific I'm afraid.
