Ok, so I have finally started my army build..my Imperial Blood Berets. I have been planning and researching this build for over a year now and now the day has come...I hope you all enjoy. This will also be a product review as well, I do use a lot of bit from other places. So unfortunately I wont be playing in any tournaments put on by GW . I will be asking the IGMB thoughts and views on this build as there are some thing that I have not yet decided on. Enjoy!

Looks like a promising start. I too have the heavily modified bug, which for me is fine as the closest GW store is over 500 miles away...

Sorry all, I hope to show a little better pic, thousand apologies I beg you accept one of them. So the idea here is to keep the Catachan arms and give them shoulder pads from the Cadians. Or I just may use Cadian arms all together, I will do a test run on both to see what looks best. As for rifles I will be using autoguns from Anvil Industry... test run coming soon. As for the 6X6 from Secret Weapon, I am pleased so far, there was some sanding to some of the parts but well worth it. Maxmini stuff is just awesome, great company with good products.

Very promising. I'll keep an eye on this. Do the maximin I bodies add any height to them? Or are they the same as if you used a GW body?

Since both the Catachan legs and the maximin torsos have belts they do add a bit of height. Personally I would cut away one of the belts since I think it looks weird otherwise. Except for that they look really good. I think Cadian arms would look better than Catachan (a more uniform, and uniformed, look). With the sleeved arms and should pads they will really look like something you could see drop out of an Osprey or Black Hawk. Keep us updated!

Of the two, I would take down the belt on the Catachan legs as it looks like the belt on the maxmini bodies has finer detailing.

Thanks guys,
As for the question about the height, I have not noticed a significant increase in the minis overall height due to the belt. If there is a change its so small you cant really notice it...at least I cant. I will do a more detailed check for you guys.
As for belt issue..I have gone back and forth for a long time now on it. This is how I stand as of right now...I think it looks more correct...the torso belt is really a harness belt for the gear and equipment, the pants belt is for well...the pants. I think once I put some color on them it will look a lot better. Now, one could use Cadain legs, and have the tail of the blouse come out from under the armor. That looks really good as well.
I'm very happy with the Maxmini Combat Torsos, the detail and quality is awesome.
Now as for the vehicles....what do guys think? Flat black with highlights or the a different color?

As for the vehicle colors, how are the infantry being painted? Flat black definitely looks great for a special forces style force, but so does a deep drab green or even a deep crimson or maroon.

Really looking great, I'll be following this thread with great interest. Let me guess blood red color for the berets ? Really look awesome.
Aside from your APC, the average guardsmen can definately be used in a GW tournie I mean your still using GW legs, arms and occasionnally the odd head.

Well they are a high end merc army that is air assault in nature so figure that flat black would look really good with olive drab for gear and weapon. The beret will be a maroon or dark red. Ivory- I really hope so... Today I ordered Cadian arms so we will see. I will run a test on just plane Cadian arms, then I will try Catachan arms with Cadian shoulder pads. I really hope the second works out as I do think it would be fitting of a merc type army.

Black isn't a good colour for night-time operations. Dark grey or dark blue would be better. That said, a deep drab green would look best with the red berets.
As for the belt issue, I just think it looks weird and unnatural, like it's riding high towards the armpits. I've never worn a combat belt/harness above standard belt level, the webbing always ends up over (and covering) the pants belt. I'd cut away one of the belts or use Cadian legs. As you said, that would also look good.

True I didn't even notice the belts until now. I recommend Cadian arms and legs too... But the models really are awesome

I also have some new pic of my Valk/Helo, I changed to a new blade setup..pic are coming.

Looking really nice, I like your lasgun variant. Looks like the battery/magazine could be a bit thicker though.

Aside from a thicker magazine, these models are awesome. Now I've just got to find that link you made for their fluff

Hey thanks Ivory, I made some adjustments last night on the mags. And...I have combined both Cadian shoulder pads and Catachan arms and it looks great. I will try get some new material for the mags. Also just go to the fluff section it should be one of the first ones. Made some changes, with the help of Reds, haven't post them yet.
The idea with the mags was to make an SMG setup. ( In honor of RT)
Gerner Thanks! No I have not see the legs yet, i check it out today.
