I took a trip into town today and found this beauty…. As soon as I saw it my brain kicked into gear and I thought to myself, ‘Imagine a unit of Guardsmen fighting a desperate battle on a dockyard!’……..wouldn’t you all think that? Admit it! Once the mammoth sheets of plastic were assembled I got this… The kit itself is all plastic, but the detailing is superb and it has a lot character. There’s no set way to position all the extras so you can have a bit of fun with it all. The pieces fit together beautifully, with only a few gaps, but they can easily be filled with greenstuff. I’ve added some strewn plastruct girders for extra detailing as well as some ‘pipes’. It’s the perfect scale and can be turned into so much with some imagination. I’m not sure how I’m going to use it yet, I was hoping to make a gaming board in a couple of weeks so it may be incorporated into that. This will require a lot of airbrushing and weathering, so at the same time I can provide helpful tutorials mixed in with this thread. First up will be undercoating and initial stages, as well as Imperialising it all! Wish me luck. Cosmic

Wonderful, with you painting skill it will be great. But why only one, think how awesome if you build a whole gaming table around it.

I really like that! I'm in the middle of building an industrial-styled board with various landing platforms, walkways, etc, so this would be a really good addition.

That's really nice, I just looked on the Italeri website and they also do this: www.italeri.com/scheda.asp?idProdotto=2043&idCategoria=5&idSottocategoria=55The two kits are compatable, so you can join them to make a longer dockyard, which is awesome as I have wanted to do a dockyard section for a city fight table for ages, so might have to get some of these too. Looking forward to seeing you paint it though, it looks great with the guardsmen on it.

Seriously, I can´t wait to see what you will make of it. do you intent to add a water effect? or is the dock a remaining thing in a devastated and dried up world? Like lake Aral

I thought it looked pretty awesome too Tred. I've ordered the long and be-staired docks and some battle debris.

Good terrain choice but I feel it is lacking the rest of the port. please try to assemble conjoining parts or craft ones. It would make a nice piece.
