PS any woman reading this please don't think I'm "havin a go." I know that shoes are a nessecity in life any you can never have too many. LOL I was told it was going to be £50 by my store manager. I posted this a while ago but can't remember where. Hopefully it will be released with a new codex but that's not very likely given the number of other codexes that need updating. I want one just for the coolness factor. I'm sick of Tau having better tanks than us (when they're fully upgraded) so it's about time we get access to a better toy.

I have a deal with the wife at the moment that I wont complain about her cloths/shoes/hand bag collection/shopping and she cannot complain about my hobby.. that being said.. I foresee 12 new pairs of shoes.. and 3 baneblades when that puppy comes out.. all in all.. a good deal with both parties happy.. aside from the fact that the wife will have one hell of a time getting me to leave the house as I try to build/paint and then playtest those bad boys

Don't get me wrong, but Baneblade are warmachines and take so you can only use one of them, unless you're in a game with more than enough points and army organisation charts you may use. So 3 are a TOTAL WASTE of money and don't forget that every of these babies costs more than 600 points and still has a somewhat crappy rear and side armour for it's size...

Yeah and your point is? armor is just slightly better than a demolisher.. but its the scare factor.. who cares if they suck.. Use them in mega battles and scare the others out of their skin.. mainly due to the fact that my club doesnt have Curt like fanatics who have titans waiting in the closets so they will be the scary items.. then you just blast them away with the AC of LRs on one flank go go distractions..

But if they bring out more SH Tanks then people might start playing bigger games. Me and a friend used to play 20,000 pts per side back in the old 2nd ed days.
They use to take all weekend to play but it was an amazing sight to see 20,000 pts of IG and Space Marines vs and 20,000 pt Genestealers cult army (basicaly IG and Tyranids) or Orks.

As long the games are big enough it's no problem to use more SH vehicles. But below 5k point games it's nearly impossible to use more than 1. Oh and my point was that you would use about 1900 points for 3 Baneblades when you could get thousands of other nice things for that One Baneblade is scary enough, so you don't need 3 bullet magnets if one already works well enough

Right From what I heard by asking about The staff only hear about Codex Updates like, 3 months after they are finished, 3 months before the release My local GW Staff told me that this is Complete and utter Bull$£%&, They wont be doing a Updated Codex, So if it does come out, it will be a planflet type thingy, like errrm, That Warhammer one that came out a while ago. with a few Updated rules in it.

sadly that's quite believable azalar. the facts as I know them:
1. gw is a commercial business and is in it for profit 2. gw bought forgeworld 3. forgeworld already has the baneblade kit made in resin 4. resin is vastly different than plastic as far as how you build a kit - a turret is a big hunk of resin to forgeworld, where in plastic kit land you have half a dozen turret parts to build the structure of the thing. 5. gw would only lose money making the baneblade into a plastic kit, both on constructing the kit and selling it at cut rate prices over their more expensive resin kit.
in the end: gw already has the baneblade, why would they economize it and spend money to make less profit?

So Most Likely It'll Be Terrain pieces like they did for the battle of Macragge Box Set and the Aquila Lander

And if It did come out in Plastic, It would in the same ammount of Parts as about 2 or 3 Leman Russes, So It would also take more time. In my Opinion, and what I think is a Educated Guess The Baneblade will be staying a Resin Forgeworld Product, And will not be made into Plastic.

lol, but ordering over the net means I have to pay postage! There'snew stuff on ebay that even when you include postage is still cheaper then a GW store. I hope that all 40k players start playing IG so the can use Baneblades........... They'll soon get bored and ebay'll be flooded with cheap Baneblades . Ebay works. There's also the Warstore (www.thewarstore.com) those guys are very reliable. Thye charge 20%off GW prices and have 4 dollar shipping regardless of how much you buy. Only downside is you have to phone order, but I think it's worth it... -Ben

in the end: gw already has the baneblade, why would they economize it and spend money to make less profit? If sales of the FW Baneblade drop then GW could make a killing by producing a simpler, cheaper plastic version. Making a plastic kit form an already exsisting resin kit is cheaper then developing a new model. Just about everyone would buy a plastic Baneblade (even if it meant playing IG) and some people would still buy the FW ones simply because they're "better".

in my book, resin is not better than plastic kits. I am not a fan of forgeworld products, they require alot of love to make nice looking.

Plastic release is set for September. As for the matter of profit, how many Baneblades do you see, make it plastic and how many will you see? It costs more to make resin kits than plastic kits hence the huge price hike. Change it to plastic with a slight reduction in profit margin and you sell more, simple economics. Cities of Death terrain kits have already proved this.

Yes. Cities of Death have proved this, lets just recap Cities of Death = Terrian, Everyone Wants / Needs Terrian Baneblade = Super Heavy Battle Tank only Avalible to ImpGuard, one of the Least Played Armies.
I am the only IG Player, Apart from a Heretic Player, down at my local GW. Everyone has SM, Necrons, 'Nids and Orcs.

Erm Azalar you're not really correct on the least played army... SM and CSM are most played followed by IG... While least played should be DE. Just because they aren't played much around your place doesn't mean that nobody else is playing them.

Baneblade = Super Heavy Battle Tank only Avalible to ImpGuard, one of the Least Played Armies. Then you should say that next time and not state that IG is one of the least played armies overall

About the "maybe" plastic Baneblade. Plastic products are more interesting for GW since they have a new stuff on computer enabling them to create new models rapidly and cheaper than having a real sculptor...See the new wraith lord or eldar weapons platforms for example. So a plastic baneblade would be very interesting for them because cheaper and thus more people would buy it!!! See about wave serpent and pirhana...

Have to agree with you. Popped into my Local Games Workshop on Sunday, and it was 40k begginner day, so I thought Id see the level of standard they can play at. Very Very busy, about 20 - 25 new players, so I decided to stay and help Paul, got my Carer to bomb over my ImpGuard, since he was on his way anyway, and its all boxed ready to go, Codexs and supplements. When we were all ready for a big game, Paul asked all the Space Marine players to raise thier hands, and about 15 of the kids raised thier hands, I was like "What The ... ", So it was some big massive Space Marine Vs Traitor Imperial Guard [My 3k and some Begginners 3k, He was only other Guard Player =( ], Orcs, 'Nids and Chaos Space Marines But 15 out of 25 Players now turn to Space Marines, where are the good old Days, when the Guard were heavily played in my area. Have they all deserted the Guard Leigions and fallen to the draw of the Space Marines?

Im also gonna try get some Members down on here, i found some 40K Profiles on Myspace [Can I say that?] so im posting links on them and such.

just joined up here but had guard for about 18 years, hell when i first started, guard armour didn't evan exsist so im not worried though i fear way to many guard battalions cluttering up the table. any way the way my armour lasts against tau and necrons i could do with a super heavy just to get passed them broadside suits
