Ok, I was Talking With one of the GW Guys who work at the Canadian Battle Bunker/GW HQ as we were Talking About Our Armies And What More We Need .. I Mentioned that I've Started Saving For a Baneblade from Forge World and he told me something I found REALLY interesting ... Apparently with the success of City of Death (Cityfight whatever else you all wanna call it lol) That the Next Worldwide Campaign will be involving City of Death and is Coming up around Summer of 2008 (I think he said 2008) ... Apparently It'll Be heavy on Imperial Guard and GW will be releasing a Campaign Box Set like Battle for Macragge .. Very Cool I thought But What He told me next blew me away ... A Baneblade would be included in this Box Set!! Now. for right now this is JUST hear-say But I got my Friend To Look More Into This cuz if This is the Case, I may Just Save my Money and Wait til this Box Set Comes out Kinda hoping Its True - crosses fingers .. that'll hurt later today -

this topic has come up from another GW store in a similiar thread about 2 months ago ( too lazy to find it ) .. will be nice to see.. but lets also hope that they release a new codex that makes them legal tender for games..
downside.. everyone will be into IG again.. and you wont be able to spit sideways without hitting an IG player fielding a baneblade ( or 3 )..
now the wait sets in..

And Yea I agree with ya Grisnik ... I'm one of The few in my local gaming Area that Plays IG and when I go down to the Battle Bunker, There's a Select Group Of Us that call ourselves 'The Corp' (insider Joke) ..... I guess Its Just a waiting Game Now

There's been rumour of a plastic Baneblade for a while now, it's going to be about £50 - £75.

Baneblade's are still warmachines, so the chance that someone will field 3 of them are really small to impossible But these are nice nice if it'll become true ;D

When the box does (if) it will come out, then I aint converting armies. I already have enough difficulty trying to get to GW just to get another troop box (and 3 sentenals and some glue )

You Should See it Now .... Within 'The Corp' (A Group of Us who Play IG forces) There probably At Least 4 Armoured Companies out of 7 Of us (One is Actually a Traitor Company ... A Really Amazing Army that I Need to take Pics of and post on Here for you all to see) ... Maybe Its Just My Area But i've Noticed in the Greater Toronto Area that Armoured Companies Are ALREADY very Popular

Well I think that if a plastic Baneblade is realised (great!!!), there will be some kind of new rules for it...because it is a warmachine...maybe restriction in slots or something like that...It is so powerful in a 40K battle so we need something to counter balance this. I'm waiting to see!!

lol, but ordering over the net means I have to pay postage! There'snew stuff on ebay that even when you include postage is still cheaper then a GW store. I hope that all 40k players start playing IG so the can use Baneblades........... They'll soon get bored and ebay'll be flooded with cheap Baneblades .

Yeah GW might screw you over with the rules. Just wait it will probably have the same effectiveness as a Shoe Box [Land Raider, Selective nerd slang]

I think it's balanced already simply by it's enormous point cost.

And I guess it'll get a restriction on bigger games like some independent characters. Like only useable in matches with 2000+ points.

I Like The rules They Got Now But Yea, IF they do release This With A Campaign set, They'll Probably Have Special Restricting Rules ... Now Think About this, If The Guard Gets The Baneblade, what Will The OPPOSING force Get!?

if they restrict it to high point only matches the oppsing forces won't get anything. if they make it a "normal" unit... than may the Emperor with us...

The Problem with Plastic Baneblade is you will go though a Pot of glue just putting it together, then youll need a lot of Undercoat and Colours to paint, Yeah yeah, It would be awesome to have it sitting thier with its Front amour 7 Zillion and what have you, Make everything think twice, But you have to think about the Practicality of it, Would it be good for Troop Transporting? Taking Fire? Taking Objectives? If it fits all these it would get boring after a while, and It would be a hit on your pocket for £75 Quid, you could get a IG Army Set for £50 and a Leman Russ for £30, Which is just as good, Thats 2 Leman Russ', 40 Troops and 3 Heavy Weps for the SAme Price. I mean, if you want some Heavy Firepower, just get a Titan, Sit there, and Stamp on the Enemy. Know what im saying.

Most Likely The Plastic Baneblade Just Might Be a Objective Piece For Both Forces To Fight Over ....
As For The Practicality Of It, It's The Same Practicality of Having a Warhound Titan in your Army .. Its NOT gonna Transport Any Troops (A reason Why The Gorgon Is Nice ...) But Like The Warhound, You Can Sit Back And Let Its Guns Do the Talking ... Not Much on a Game Table will BE out of its Firepower Reach and The Morale Checks that their Weapons CAN do on the opposing Force can either Make or Break a Game ...
True, I WOULD be more Tempted To Move a Titan Than a Baneblade for Tank Shock Value (Yes, I'm Chessy like that at Times lol) but BOTH can Do the Same Thing ..
Azalar, I completely see What Your Saying however the same arguement Can Be Made for the Titan as Well ..... When It All comes down To It, Its The Firepower That we All Look At ....
Either Way, It WILL be Interesting To See just How this Will Affect Contruction of Armies IF It Does Come Out

If GW do bring out Plastic SH Tanks it'll encourage people to play bigger points battles which means we'll have a good excuse to go out and buy more figures.
So when I walk in with £50's worth of new figures I can explain to my girlfriend that I need them because everyone's buying Baneblades for £75, so I'm really saving £25.
Read the Girls in Warhammer thread and you'll understand what I mean. This is the kind of logic that woman seem to understand- It's like "I've bought these new shoes in a sale for £100 but they should have been £150 so I've saved £50". And you know you'd better not mention the shoes she saved money on last year but has never worn.
PS any woman reading this please don't think I'm "havin a go." I know that shoes are a nessecity in life any you can never have too many.
