Yesterday I played 2v2 1250. It was chaos space marines with allied daemon and another chaos space marine vs my guardsmen with chaos space marines allied with imperial guard. It was an uber fluffy game and was very fun. My teammate is a guard player who is now using his guard as an ally while he uses his brother chaos space marines. While shooting at the enemy daemon prince I wasn't sure whether to use Bring it down or frf, srf. He told me +1 shot was better than twin linked, and he's right, except for the 3 autocannons and grenade launchers.
I math crunched it for within and without rapid fire range and either way, Bring It Down provides 2-3 more wounds. This, I'm assuming, is a result of twin linked autocannons and grenade launchers and not so much the lasguns.
Does this sound right to others? As experienced players, do you tend to use Bring It Down instead of frf, srf when you shoot at monstrous creatures? I'm thinking frf, srf is only for when you cannot use bring it down.
This may be obvious to most of you, but I needed to know for sure which was better.
Also, a question about commands...
A Daemon Prince is flying in the air. I want to shoot at with my Quad Gun and hopefully knock it out of the sky. I also want to order my guardsmen to bring it down, but I want to do this AFTER the quad gun shoots the daemon prince to the ground. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I want to order a unit it must shoot first, right? Meaning I have to shoot with everything that is being ordered before anything else such as artillery and such.
Realizing this, I got annoyed that I couldn't bombard a unit with artillery fire and then afterwards shoot up the survivors with lasgun fire. Can a more experienced player elaborate a bit on how to effectively use the commands?
