SM Land Raider ... the top part, this bulls..t just does not fit ... I actually had to cut the rear "track covers" to be able tu glue them into place ... NEVER AGAIN will I buy another Land Raider. Antoher pain in th ... is the old Metal Nightbringer, the arms just won't keep in place, I should have pinned them, but I ended up glueing with good old, relieable bual components epoxy glue (Araldite), and restraining it so as its arms could not move for 24 hours. It's now rock hard, and the arms never moved again.

I think cosmic mentioned it at some point but getting a battlefleet gothic battleships flat piece to line up perfectly is actually impossible. (flat bit is the horizontal piece the bridge sits on)

I've never actually had any problems with 40k models. Well, none that reading the instructions correctly wouldn't have solved anyway. Mind you I've never built obliterators...
However, I'd like to condemn the old Metal Bretonnian Trebuchets to the Room 101 we're creating here.
They have A frames that don't form A's properly. The metal bent during transit/by being shaken by over-enthusiastic 12yr olds, and bending it back into shape was near impossible if you wanted your trebuchet to look like an actual trebuchet and not a warped mess.
I ended up making my own, and the geometry I had to do was a lot less stressful.
Also Settra the Imperishable's Metal Chariot. Bendy bendy no liney-uppy refuse-to-gluey, AAHHH THE HORSES AND THE SCYTHE I FORGOT ABOUT THEM, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(Technical difficulties, please wait until normal service is resumed)

I think I mentioned a while back that my first attempt at building the new plastic Necron Tomb Spyder kit ended up going in the bin, because I followed the instructions and attached its legs before seeing how the Scarab hive parts fit to the body, and the way the legs were positioned prevented it from being able to attached, and attempts to remove and reposition the legs resulted in plastic tearing...

Metal Killa Kans.. I own 9, and not a single one was made correctly.. each of them had warped bodies so the 2 halves didn't match up.. and then the arms and legs would only touch to one half of the body in the slots they sat in because of the misalignment...
now they are full of green stuff and loads of super glue and never travel further than 10' from the shelf they live on.
The old tracks on Russ and Chimera.. I want those back again ... why... because I want to make cool wrecks and conversions to Wartrakkz, but I remember being 15 and banging my head against the kitchen table with frustration. a big thick wooden kitchen table. which moved and sent all the bits flying. more frustration.
I learnt from this though, now I have a short plank to one side of my construction area with which to beat myself with when assembling GW products, really GW should sell these with an imperial aquilla embossed on to it as part of their hobby tools kit.
One thing in GW's favour.. no vinyl tank tracks.

Argh, those kans. I ebayed up 8 of them after I got my first 3 plastics done. "Oh", I thought, such a classic model, it will add some nice variety instead of have a whole load of the plastic ones.
As you know Tread, I've only actually assembled and based one and further attempts to change this has led to me scratch building one and buying a whole new box of plastics.
Still, one day.

Devil dog. The hatch to the torret was badly melted and it was missing that fan goes on the back. Had to use part of the hellhound flamer turret as a makeshift fan and then I constructed tank commander to fill in the gapping hole at the top of the turret.
Ironically it was one of my more creative builds at the time. After that I started doing custom poses with Guardsmen and trying my hands at using Green stuff.

Worse part would be they make it out of super cheap plastic/wood and it breaks after the second modelling project.

Last night, at around 2130, I finished painting my flyer. Many, many, many hours in and I'd glued the last bit of lichen on the base, screwed in the stand and popped on the magnetics wings. I sat back to admire my work with pride, and the pilot and dashboard fell out of the cockpit into the hull.
There were profanities.
Threats of stamping.
Grumpiness towards innocent bystanders.
Nearly painted in the glass.
Eventually managed to pretty cleanly prize off the canopy, rattle the guy around until I could see him at the right angle, stick in my best tweezers and feed him back into place with a touch up and LOTS of glue!

Ouch! I've done that before, finished building a model, walked away and came back to find it's moved and set in a different position! Danger Rod
