Games workshop have announched in the latest White Dwarf that they are releasing some Chaos Daemons (both for 40k and fantasy) in May. Views?

Look good so far. I really like the Deamonettes. The old ones were looking far too cute and well behaved. The new ones look more like deamons, but still look somewhat 'beautiful' if you get what I want to say. The Blood Letters looked good as well, but I really dislike the Beasts of Nurgle

Isn't that for fantasy? I personally think it looks quite good...

archlord, it's all conversion fodder anyways. I like the new Bloodletter sculpts as well, but I liked the old ones too, so I just wished they added another "type" of choice instead of replacing the models and making the older ones OOP....

It is said (GW source) that they will launch new minis for deamons such as plastic deamonettes and such... I think that the release of the deamon codex will be alongside the one for Battle and all the deamons going with them...
More deamons to send back to the eye!!! For the Emperor of Humanity!

For both systems. There should be a new Armybook Deamons and a brand new Codex: Deamons. Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to give the CSM just generic deamons

hmm.. this should be pretty cool. I might, If anyone has a link to pics consider collecting deamons. but would you be somehow restricted to one type (like slaneesh cant side with tzeench)

Slaneesh could always side with Tzeentch so far. Khorne and Slaneesh, and Nurgle and Tzeentch were affected by the ancient enemy rules so far. And I don't think, that the fantasy deamons were ever affected by it

All, As a Nurgle CSM player I hope Codex: Daemons brings back the dedicated flavor of particular gods that the last Chaos Codex did away with. The recent chaos codex seems to really rely on a chaos undivided approach (mixed forces) to be viable. I used to have effective (and fun to model) army lists staying all Nurgle. I'd hate for that to change ie: HAVING to take Obliterators, 1K Sons, Bezerkers, etc. to win games since I wouldn't enjoy having their kind mixed in with my Nurgle: "You got your Blood God in my Nurgle! You got your Nurgle in my Blood God!!!" Additionally, I wish my 100 point Great Unclean One did half the things it did at 100 points last Codex. For the Emperor! (Sometimes

I think this is pure cheese people, absolute cheese. Individual Daemons are cheaper than a guardsman, have better stats and can be included by any army whatsoever. Shooty armies like Tau and even us, the Imperial Guard will field these as CC troops. What's more their is no limit to how many you can take and they don't take up any force organisation restrictions.

A) CSM and deamons aren't mixable (if rumors are true) B) Nearly no deamons can shoot, exception are flamers (template) and horrors (12"?) C) No armor except the Khorne deamons and Nurgle deamons with increased toughness
That leaves a lot of time for you shooting...

Only way you can mix and match armies in Apocolypse.. and yes they are going to be scary on their own.. no armor, but I think they all have ward/invul saves depending on the system you play them as.. I am seriously considering starting up a nice Khorne following.. figure a skulltaker, 20 bloodletters, 10 flesh hounds, and 3 bloodcrushers should do the trick, plus a bloodthirster in there for kicks at times when a good model for it appears.. put them all on square bases, but also chat with my local folks and see if I can still use them for 40k as well 2 games covered in one army.. gotta love it Cheers Gris

Bah, Khorne!
The allure of Slaanesh is simply too powerful for me to ignore, especially if they have plastic Daemonettes now! My original aim was to do a Dark Elf Cult of Slaanesh, and do something similar to your plan..double parts of the army into Dark Eldar.. (but yes, I DO realize that Dark Eldar DO NOT worship Slaanesh, nor do they have Daemonettes, etc...They are NOT Chaos Eldar by any stretch of the imagination. End Disclaimer against Fanatical Dark Eldar Players).
Anyway, yeah. Sex, drugs and rock and roll ftw!

The new deamons are hot. Just looked at the pics in the new WD. I really like the new Deamonettes. Not as cute as their predecessors. They finally look like deamons and not like bit wild girl from next door I think, I'll get some for my CSM army as undevided deamons...

I actually have a friend who really wanted to start a Slanesh army a year or two ago. His parents would not let him after seeing some of the Daemons. etc. Naked torsos and multiple breasts.

May be good for Warhammer but a army with no range is going to get killed. Best thing at being Choas army is Nids. They will anihalate them. But looks like a awsome army for Warhammer.

the demon army does not setup on the feild.
they are divided into 2 equal halves and the first half deepstrikes in on turn1 the second half comes in via normal reserve rules. so you get one turn of shooting.
this is from Mays whitedwarf article
