I use Plastruct: www.plastruct.com/ or Evergreen: www.evergreenscalemodels.com/Most Model Railway/Railroad shops/suppliers will stock one or both, or be able to obtain what you want. Whilst buying online is fine if you know exactly what sizes/shapes you want, I usually find it best to 'see it in the flesh' to gauge whether it will do the job I have in mind.

I personally like evergreen, because it is a little more soft and forgiving. I've seen one or two others which have been a much more brittle plastic, which has been difficult to get straight likes with and harder to manipulate.

There is an alternative to plasticard that I use called foamalux or foamex ...it's a very high density foam that is very similar to styrene and takes paint better than plastics... it comes in 1mm up to 10mm and is very versatile... can be cut heated and bent ... and it's much cheaper than evergreen sTyrene... you can get it from Robert horn... or ebay ... I use it for every conversion you have seen from me...

Hmmm... well I think I made a boo boo .. well to start with... Robert horne is a UK distributed.. I have no idea if that is even available in the states .. perhaps it might even not be called foamalux as this is the brand name... also I think you need a trade account for this company... I can order what I want from my works account.. so.. .er... you might wanna do your own research for an American supplier...
