Hello all,
There is a small issue with that rule in french as the translation makes the rule unusable due to références to the 5th éd. Rules .
Could someone explain how to use it with the 6th éd and with the différent types of move ?
Thx a lot !

Valks are flyers, so they start in reserve. When they come on they can choose to be in Zoom or Hover mode. In Zoom they cant drop anyone, in Hover they have the same restrictions as a fast skimmer (only move 6" in they want to disembark). However, the Valk can move flat out 18" in hover mode (being a fast skimmer), and so the Grav chute rule kicks in here.
Basically, if they choose to fly lower, they can still do the grav chutes, but if they zoom they cant let the dudes jump.
I think the best idea is to enter in Zoom mode, strafe some stuff, drop missles/lascannon shots, then hover next turn and let the dudes jump on a flat out move while you fly to safety for another strafing run. assuming you're not delayed until turn 4 or something dumb...
hope that helps.

I disagree that this rule is that straightforward. I listed my reasoning out here. The English version is probably no better than any other translation at this point, since the change in core rules has made this rule very hard to reconcile. I don't want to start the discussion all over again, so check out the thread and basically make up your own mind about it. At least until an FAQ comes out. ;D Hope that helps!

This is pretty much cut and dry. The Grave Chute rules override all references in the rule book and codex rules trump rule book unless otherwise stated.
The only thing you must do is move Flat Out to activate the rule, there are no other restrictions that come into play other than those stated in the codex and the rule Grave Chute Insertion.
