Well hello everyone, long time no see!
I'm not quite sure how, but I have returned from a week away with 2 new commissions! Bringing the grand total up to 3....
4 more Elysians vehicles for Teku Some Sisters of Battle for Paimon And this for Ivory
This Omega is the same one I was painting a while ago and then put up for sale/trade. Fortunately, Ivory emailed me requesting that I paint it for (originally) his Brothers birthday, that has now changed to Ivory wanting it for himself.
Since I'm no longer under a strict time limit like I previously thought, I can afford to create this thread and show the painting process, it also gives Ivory a chance to see how it's going!
Photos will be up in the next couple of hours, the painting is quite far ahead so it'll skip the undercoating and what have you, just need to wait for my camera to charge and for the holiday photos to upload to Facebook!!
See you all soon....it's good to be back!
Cosmic
P.S. I think you're all going to like this one!

Thanks Magot Well, it took longer than I expected but here we go! The added identity plate and a handle..... I lost one of the sponson barrels for the weapons, so I had to scratch build two more..... Slightly bad photo but here's how she's looking at the moment.... First layer of dust and dirt.... There's still lots to do but I'm sure you'll like the finished result, I hope I do! Cosmic

Did you use salt for the chipped paint effect? It looks good.

Nope, it's just with a sponge this time. I didn't want to go too overboard with chipping. Here's where she stands now, I've added a front chain and some decals as well as some final pigments....

Very nice. Which coloured paint did you use for the chipped effect and what kind of spounge did you use? I've been thinking of getting a natural spounge but they are a tad expensive.

Thanks, Jackal Your troops look good anyway! If you'd like I normally include a little tutorial of colours and techniques with the commission, I did with Teku's Elysians. Want me to do one? I used Vallejos Game colour Black and Brown, just randomly mixed it together into varying tones and just sponged it on. Don't be too picky with it, randomness is the key. I use the sponge strays from my old GW carry case actually, I just ripped the trays to pieces and now I've got an endless supply! To be honest neither was I, I hated it. But now I'm happy! Plasma cannon will be the same as last time, no OSL, but exhaust streaks and I'm going to try some heat weathering on the coils.

One final pic for the day!! Done some more of the Blastgun and started the Heat Distortion on the coils, it's very subtle in the photos but when you turn the gun in your hand and you see it sheen and change colour it looks amazing! (if I do say so myself)

Well, I might think the tank design is a little ugly, but boy have you done it justice. That cannon looks superb, and the chain is the perfect touch too. Really good work as always.
