Following on from my tank damage thread I thought I would ask about the Tank Hunter. Since reading the Gaunts Ghost novels (the one with the destroyer in) I've wanted to get one. I didn't want to buy one and I had a Leman Russ spare that had no turret so I decided this would be my basis.
I will upload photo's of my progress shortly but I wanted to know a few things. Where can I find the rules for it? Can it be used in a standard IG list? Has anyone built one themselves?
Thanks Foster

I picked one up cheaply on EBay, I was going to use it (short gun version) as a Vindicator for my Space Wolves but now I think I'll use it as an armoured Basilisk or Colossus perhaps?

The rules for the destroyer tank hunter are in forge worlds imperial armor 1 most times other than apocalypse you need your opponents permission to play it

If you use Army Builder you can see the stats there at least by selecting Imperial Armor as an additional category.

I don't actually know where the up to date Rules for it are at the moment. The Rules in Imperial Armour: Volume 1 were superseded by a .pdf update on the Forge World Website, but that's not there any more. There's a 6th Ed update, but that doesn't have the Points Cost or the stats for the Cannon, both of which are kind of key.
I can't find it in any of the Apoc Books, but I may be missing something. There are also a number of IA books that I don't have (I've got up through the Siege of Vraks series), and they might be in there. Not all of them seem to have the Table of Contents available as a preview page.

I guess I'll have to look in the IA books for current rules then

As far as I can see the most current rules for the Destroyer are in IA Vol7 The Siege of Vraks III. I dont see anymore rules for the Tank in any of the IA books after that

That is very interesting that that link still works, since it's not shown on their Downloads page anymore. dangerrod: I didn't notice that they'd snuck it into the DKoK Armoured Battlegroup list there! I just saw the Valdor, and figured that was all there was in that one. Well spotted.

It's the same with the DKoK rules, they're not on the download page but my favorited link to the document still works.

Hey WestRider, they also gave its Laser Destroyer Cannon better stats... much better stats, but BS3 still lets it down.
Maybe check if you can throw Pask in there!

Well i'd still rather have the Laser destroyer than a Vanquisher..
But as Danger says; BS3 is letting it down quite hard..

It's the same in Vracks 3 as it is in the Update .pdf, which I had. I just didn't know those stats were still available anywhere. No Pask, tho, since it's not actually a Russ.

I use these babies instead of demolishers or standard russ tanks, in apoc games of course. Long range, cheaper than a demolisher by 5 points. Loses the rear 11, hull and sponsor weapons but range is compensation enough and it'll kill anything it touches.

Ordnance doesn't always mean Ordnance Blast anymore, even tho almost all Ordnance Weapons do have a Large Blast. The Destroyer and the Hellstrike Missiles that the Valkyrie and some other Fliers carry are the exceptions I know of, but there may be others.

Sorry, getting the Thunderer and the Destroyer Tank Hunter mixed up. Get Thunderers instead of Demolishers! (Basically the Guard equivalent of the Vindicator.)
