Currently I have 3k worth of IG. Enough to make a mech/gunline platoons with hw support. Im used to playing relic and hold the objective missions which im getting better at. However during games like kill the alien, where killing your foe is the main objective, I have the fire power I just don't seem to be able to deliever that killing blow by the second turn((or third or forth even.))
I've done some experiments with various units such as ogryns, storm troopers, catachan scout sentials((I love these guys surprisingly)) but something is missing.
So here's my question: Should I go with more tank support and less infantry during kill point missions or should I go with a half in half allied army with Space marines or Eldar or another race? Or perhaps another stragety is needed, please leave your answers below.

I'll ask one simple question that's going to be either turn on a lightbulb for you or make me sound like an idiot - but the lightbulb effect will make it worth it so I'll give it a go. ... How much plasma do you have?

Enough to make one sws and a couple left over. *smacks head* duh! I need to keep them one group instead of spread out. basic 101. Thanks optimat. I'll start hunting down for additional sw.

not neccesarily, putting all your eggs in one basket usually is a hit or miss thingy. I usually try to take doubles of everything when making an army list, so should unit 1 fail, there will still be a unit B to commit itself to the same task. remember, there is no such things as having too many guns

I'll need to keep at least two of the same type in each vet squad, leaving the third sw something that complaments the others.
