Im talking detail brush here.
Make and size? Want a new one cause my GW one sucks!!!
Was thinking about a kolinsky? I assume size 10/0 is smaller than size 0?

Kolinsky are great. I use now winsor & newton series 7.
I have a couple of 0/5 and 0/4. Easy to clean, work well but a little expensive.

I use a variety of brushes, but my favourite make is definitely Army painter, the handles are great and the bristles are good quality (better than GW at any rate), and are reasonable priced. Depending on what I'm doing, I'll switch mainly between the character (general use brush size) and the insane detail brush (for insane detail...). I've never tried Kolinsky, so I can't give you much advice there unfortunately

Yeah I bought GW fine detail brush and was greatly disappointed. Looks like I'll be trying out some of the stuff posted on here.

I'll second the Kolinsky brushes, although I'm using some nylon waterclour brushes at the moment and they're great. I'll add the details when I get home (still in transit from holidays!)

I personally use dollar store brushes because if a mess them up I can chuck them.

I use one of those unbranded "Made in Germany" kolinsky hair brushes with the black triangular handle that you see on a lot of wargaming shops, in a #3. I stay away from the really really fine numbers, since you still get a perfect point on a decent quality larger brush and don't have to keep refilling the brush so often. If there's detail that I need more control on, I have a Series 7 #2 as it is a very short, almost "stubby" brush so doesn't flex as much.

The GW detail brush does me for 90% of stuff, and having not seen anyone paint my first comment would always be invest in a large pallet and lovingly control how much paint is on your brush prior to applying it to the model and it really helped me.
For the extreme detail, like eyes and metal on clasps etc. I bought myself an Army Painter super fine brush that is roughly half the width of the GW detail brush. Such a great purchase, and when this one eventually wears, I will be buying another without doubt.

Ive decided to buy two army painter super details, just need to find more stuff to buy to make weyland deliver for free.... A box of cadians maybe, or that dark vengence box set. Wonder if i could make money on selling its contents seperatly... Its only £55 anyway.
