I've had a little go at painting some C:CSM stuff.. Now I am not the best painter in the world, primarily using drybrushing combined with washes and highlights on a one tone undercoat, but I still pretty happy about these models.. At the moment it is a work in progress, so some of the models arn't finished yet, still wanted to show them off thou.. Hope you don't mind.. Anyway.. I've chosen to go with a Nurgle theme since I really like the fluff.. Unit wise on the pictures: - Billy the Blight drone - Derek the Decimator with his fancy Butcher Cannons and Mark of Nurgle - 2 x Rhinos - 4 x 5 man Plague Marine Squads (2 x 2 plasma, 1 x 2 Melta, 1 x 2 Flamer) - 3 x Oblits, Terrorizers from HiTech Minis.. Thank you my Polish friend.. - Daemon Prince of Nurgle with wings, because he is a boss.. Anyway just wanted to show off some of my models in a army that, dispite the bland codex, is a blast to play and a army that is much harder to pull of wins with compared to the much more competitive guard lists I normally play.. Feel free to leave comments or bags of dog poo on my doorstep, it is all good since it is Nurgle.. Thanks for looking by Kras..

The paint scheme is simple, yet effective. I like it. Oh and don't worry, I have a feeling that they will be very effective in the next few months.

Ohh they are effective in the current codex as well.. T5 all around is quite effective, and if you match it up with Epidemius it can become quite hard without having to go the boring Lash whip max oblit way..

That was my problem with the current Dex. I've always liked Night Lords, and there is pretty much no reason to take non-cult marines in this dex.

MAN!!! That is a cool effect you have where it looks like the plasma is actually glowing!
Nice.

Thanks, I do enjoy playing around with some OSL on my plasmaguns.. The blue pops out a bit more on the grainy / dark green Nurgle armor.. The decimator on the table is a hit and miss thing in my experience.. It gets 8 x S8 AP4 shots at 36", which is brutal, but only has BS3, so will hit with 4.. I use it to target flyers, since the high S and the high volume of fire allows a resonable chance of a 6'.. In general with the new hull point system which favors volume of fire it is a okay asset.. Having Daemonic possession, so will always be shooting.. Having Unholy vigor which allows you to ignore a weapon destroyed or a Immobilised On a roll of 5+ And to get back up with full hull points + weapons and mobility if wrecked.. On a roll of 6+ Adding in Mark of Nurgle, which gives: "It will not Die!" USR giving hull points back on a seperate roll of 5+ a turn. And you have a quite good little anti armor unit that can be quite a pain to get rid off.. Now the down side.. 260 points if you run it as above and taking up a Elite slot which is normally used for Termicide squads.. All in all a very fluffy unit, that if used right works really well, with a awesome model which i love to field..

Great stuff. How did you do the plasma glow effect?

Glow effect: 2 layers of white.. Then a layer of watered down Dark blue.. Then ligter shades of blue dry brushed onto "the middel" of the plasma coils.. moving closer and closer to the middel the lighter the colour gets.. Ending up with 6 part white / 1 part blue ('ish) While you do this, drybrush the areas that the light would shine onto.. But here the darkest colour goes furthest away, as you move closer to the light source (coil) you use lighter and lighter colours until you have the desired effect.. I normally do this at the end of the paint job, since it is supposed to go ontop of everything, being a light source.. That is basically it..
