I prefer to use pintle-mounted Stubbers over sponsoons but have a question: what is their line of fire? I realise that the turret rotates on most tanks, but for those who do not, what firing arc does the pintle-mounted weapon have?

If its reality based, I would say its a 360 degree field. The pintle mount is usually able to torn around the hatch, I think.

360 degrees unless there's something on the Vehicle itself that would block its arc of fire. So on a Russ or Chimera Turret, it can fire 360, but on a Basilisk, it can't fire backward because the gun shield is in the way.

See, I thought 360° too, but logically, it ought to have a gunner to use it and he would not be able to fire it 360° without getting out of the tank. However, if the general consensus is that it has a full arc of fire, I'm not going to argue!

The "hatch" (or rather the turret ring to which the weapon is mounted on) turns independently. No need to climb out, why would you do that? Also, there's a picture in the book that shows how pintle-mounted weapons can fire.

The Leman Russ Thunderer and Tank Destroyer do not have rotating turrets and I tend to use the Thunderer a lot. I'll have another thumb through the BRB for that diagram as I couldn't find one last time.

Even if there's no Turret, the ring around the hatch rotates on most AFVs. If there is a Turret, the hatch ring can generally rotate independently of the Turret.
The picture is on Pg. 72, Arc of Sight 3.

Yep, I spotted that last night. I had always assumed that the hatch was fixed and it was the weapon that was on a pivot!
