The FAQ for Black Templars says that you can take one Emperor's Champion for every Primary detachment of Black Templars. Does this mean that you cannot take an Emperor's champion for Templars when using them as allies?
As a secondary issue if you can't get the EC doesn't that effectively limit Templars as an allied force to below 750 points whilst also cutting them off of vows.
Has this been asked elsewhere? Have I misinterpreted something?

Well, as there is nothing disallowing there use in secondary detachments, and they are allowed to be taken in a BT force (detachment now) I would assume that they can be taken as allies, if the BT force is over 750 they must have one. That's how I see it, but I'm not feeling to well and am not up to date with 6th ed quite yet...

That seems sensible it is just the wording that makes it sound like you can have only one per Primary detachment of Black Templars, rather than one per Black Templars detachment.
