The Catachan 611th were one of Catachans Premier Veteran Regiments. Their feits woven throughout the Imperium, Feared by The Xeno, The Mutant and The Heretic. They were some ofthe Emporer's finest, having gand respect from even the Space Marine Chapters they served alongside, most notably the 2nd Company Blood Angels during the cleasing of Verdia XI. They were given an important mission to rescue an Imperial Chancellor, and so began their decent into darkness.
On the troubled world of Krasus IV, a Warp Gate had opened, and through it pouredthe Daemon host's of Khorne. The heavily populated Planet wason the brink of falling after 57 hours, But Chancellor Horatio Blonk and a Battalion had holed up in one of the Hive Spires in the Captial Hive City. 2 weeks later, The entire Catachan 611th regiment was deployed on an evacuation mission. The Landed down into the middle of the Daemon Host and through Competant Command, true Grit and skill, they carved a bloody path to the Hive Spire.
Over the week it had taken the soldiers to reach the Chancellor, roughly 9/10 of the Regiment had been killed. The men had no choice but to wait and buy as muc time as the could. The more experienced Soldiers of the Catachan 611th learned that the Local Arbites had a number of Chimera's andasmall number of Leman Russ Battle tanks in their possession. It was decided by the Bombastic Col. Hank Tarkin that the Imperial Forces would Push down the Hive to the Armory and take command ofthe Vehicles. Then they would make clear of the Hive, and Detonate the Fusion-Plasma Coils, Incinerating the Hive ad the Daemons inside it.
The inexperienced soldiers of the PDF stood no chance, the majority killed before they were half way there. But the resourceful Catachans caried on, ploughing through the Hordes of Bloodletters. They Finally reached the Arbite's armory. In short order they mounted up and rolled out, crushing the Daemons under the Tracks of the Emporer's Armor. Back in the Hive Spire, 25 Wounded Catachans stayed behind and each played his share in the role of Imploading the Plasma Coils. The Trap was set.
The Hive Detonated in a huge Mushroom cloud after the convoy had reached a safe distance. Everything inside reducd to Atoms, and the Majority of the Daemon host taken with it. Colonel Tarkin calledin for a Evacuation and informed his superiors of the grim stuation of the Regiment, which now numbered under 100 men. But, unaware, the Imperium had already dispatched a task force to the planet, A contingent of Witch Hunters from the Order of the Bloody Rose had been sent to purge the surviving Guardsmen and the Chancellor, after fears they had been corrupted by the Ruinous powers of Chaos.
That night Tarkins Astropath recieved a vision from the Warp, a Huge, Musclebound, dog headed figure told him of the Ordo Hereticus' plan and gave him the gift of forsight.... The scenes he saw drove the advisor mad. Tarkin awoke from his light sleep to see the Astropath rolling around, screaming in agony as he saw his allies burned by Holy Promethium. Tarkin reluctantley drew his Bolt Pistol from his Holster and aimed between the Advisor's eyes. The Advisor looked at him breifly in thanks and spoke only the words "The Sister's are coming".
3 nights after, as predicted by the Astropath, A contingent of Sisters of Battle made land some 50 KM from the Imperial forces. As a convoy of Witch Hunters armor headed towards the Imperial Dug Out. The Convoy Halted infront of the forward sentries, and opened Fire upon them, dousing the Soldiers in Burning liquid. The Surviving Guardsmen started to flee their positions ad mount up in their armour. Tarkin himself retrived a missile launcher from a fallen Guardsman. He Fired a Krak Missile at the closest tank, blowing it apart frm within. He then climbed onto a Leman Russ Battle tank and took aim with its heavy Stubber.
The Guardsmen faught valiantly, but they were outmatched and outgunned. They were fighting a loosing battle, that was until the unexpected happened. A Blood Thirster decended into the midst of the enemy battle line, tossing Tanks like they were empty cans. The Sisters of Battle paniced and were quickly gunned down by the Catachan's Concentrated fire. After the Witch Hunters had been destroyed, the Blood Thirster approached Tarkins tank . It placed upon the Turret a tome with the Skull Rune of Khorne upon its spine. Hanging from it tattered pages dangled an amulet, beaing dark runes itself. A strange dark energy cracking around it. A strange Temptation overcame Tarkin to put the Amulet on. The Blood Thirster stepped back and beat its Daemonic wings, taking back to the sky's.
Tarkin took the Amulet and placed it around his neck. As he did so a dark, rough voice echoed in his head. The voice toldhim he had turned his back on the Imperium, jus as it had with him. But the Dark Gods of Chaos were always looking for new Pawns, and the Chance for him to save his men from the Wrath of the Imperium. Tarkin spoke back to the voice ad soon a dark council was in session between the two. The Voice told Tarkin to seek the Chaos Space Marines of the Crimson Slaughter, and the surviving Guardsmen would be a very useful tool in greater plans.
The Regimet's current wereabouts are unknown, but Catachan are shaking in fear of whe they do return, because A Catachan soldier is a fearsome foe... A Catachan Soldier blessed by Khorne is and sane mans worst nightmare
