So! I was wanting to try using green stuff once again! I said I would before but never really got around to it, so my question(s) is (are) is games workshop the only place to get green stuff / modeling putty or are there other sites or stores in the US that sells them?

Definately more places that sell model putty. In the US theres at least the craft store Michaels that sells putty, and I imagine Lowes and Wal-Mart sell some sort of putty also. And from what I've heard most non-GW putty is pretty good, its softer and easier to work with. Liquid GS is something I've only seen from GW, unless another store sells it and I just never noticed.

games workshop just sell everyday greenstuff but at a higher price... as long as its the blue and yellow strip of putty its gonna be the same stuff.
green stuffs real name is kneadatite so maybe search for that too....
milliput is vastly different from green stuff though... it does not act the same when sculpted... milliput is rated in a bunch of different grades depending on what you need it for... although if your starting out i suggest kneadatite (gs) to work with first

I would recommend "pro-create" This stuff is excellent! It comes in white and dark grey blocks. You get twice as much for the same price. It can be a soft as greenstuff if you need it to be, or add more of the resin to it and it can get really hard, for hard, sharp edges. Its what I used for my truescale project, which, if you need visual examples is below in this very forum.

I need to try both pro-create and brown stuff. I've used gs and milli-put before; milli-put is more cement-like and messy when you add water. When it hardens it's heavier and more solid than gs.

thats quite true... milliput is very messy... i tend to use the terracotta milliput alot now when shaping flat panels and for scenery cos its relitivly cheap...
id like to try pro-create ... think il pick up a tub (?) of it tommorrow when i visit SnM modelling supplies as im pretty sure he stocks that... im fast disliking green stuff because of its nature to try to return to a ball shape when drying... its difficult to make clean flat surfaces with it when it expands and rounds out... id like to see if pro-create has better shape managment when curing.

one of procreates, advertisement perks, is that it cures without shrinkage. I can say, that I've had not problem with the stuff...other than mixing in too little hardener one time

Another nice thing about ProCreate is that it can go through the vulacanization process 3 to 4 times without breaking down (which for most people is not important but in my line of work it is a great thing).

Because he is Vulcan, god of fire and forgery

Haha, forgery? He makes illegal copies of official documents?

Because he is Vulcan, god of fire and forgery Nah, he's a teacher on Vulcan and he needs the highest standards of Vulcan education from his students. It is logical that he'll make them redo less than perfect sculpts.
