So I've been playing guitar for about 5 years now, but have only gotten into reading sheet music recently and have realized that I would really like to learn to play piano as well. Any tips for a beginner? A very random thread, I know. But this is the underhive! Any fellow musicians care to give me some tips?

To me, the biggest difference between the piano and stringed instruments is that the piano is in a definite key. Lots of things on a guitar, if you're changing the key, all you need to do is slide the same pattern up or down the neck. On the piano, your fingers are actually going to be going through different patterns in different keys.
On the other hand, the usual way that sheet music is written is pretty much designed around the piano, so sheet music makes much more immediate sense when you're reading for piano than when you're reading for a guitar or bass.
The other thing that I noticed was odd is that on the piano, both hands are basically doing the same sorts of things, unlike the guitar, where one hand frets and the other picks. It's a bit more to keep track of if you're doing much in the lower register.

If you play a lot fingers saggy, wrists too bent you'll screw them for life.

yeah, pretty much what I was thinking there, Prince. Just having a look it already seems to be much easier to understand sheet music for the piano. Definitely really funky getting both hands to cooperate though. Right now I'm just trying to do stuff one hand at a time.
@ming- Well, just if I play a lot in a crappy position, right? I need my hands in top shape for rolling dice!
