Question on Gets Hot and wound allocation

If I have a unit with 2 Plasma Guns who use the Rapid Fire rule, am I right in assuming that I should roll 2 lots of 2 dice rather than 4 together?
Also, if one unlucky gunner rolls 2 ones, I assume that the saves are both taken on him rather than being spread around the unit (and no silly Look Out Sir rolls)?

I would use 2 different pairs of colored dice.

That is correct. Gets Hot automatically allocates the Wound to the particular firing Model, and there's a FAQ that disallows LOS! for Gets Hot Wounds.

Makes sense. I spotted the potential for stupid rule bending as soon as I saw the rule for LOS!
