Hi guys,
I have a squad of Elysians and I have a vendetta for them. The background of my Elysians is that they are fighting in the same theatre of my other guard armies. I already have an Imperial Navy force painted in a certain scheme.
Now to my question: Do the Elysian forces have their own valkyries/vendettas or are they seconded from the Imperial Navy like the are for other regiments?
I'm trying to figure out a colour scheme for my vendetta and this my tip me one way or the other.

I believe they have their own. The Elysians are unique in the sense that they don't field any tanks. It's only tanks and artillery that are dispersed by the Departmento Munitorum...
Mind you perhaps an Armageddon camapaign badge on the valks and infantry could help with army cohesion since all of your forces are based on the Armageddon Campaign

Yeah, that's the idea. Eventually (when I get around to painting them) everyone will have a campaign badge. I'm just wondering if the valks should share the scheme with the imperial navy craft or if they should be the elysian scheme.

Hi mate,
Elysian do arm and maintain their Valkyries/vendettas/Vultures because they are drop troops. They do not need IN support except for bomber and fighters.
So you can have a Vendetta with your Elysian markings and colours and add a campaign badge to match the rest of your army
Cheers

I think that Elysian's fliers are on permanent secondment from the navy. They are still owned and operated by navy personnel, but are pretty much under the control of the Elysian's. As they are ground attack craft they would probably use the same scheme as the infantry, although the bottom side would be made to blend with the sky colour.

I decided to match it with the rest of my army and my other flyers. Here are some pics of the vendetta with my old FW valkyrie for company. Sorry about the quality of the pics, I'm not a photographer. (I couldn't even be bothered to clear the stuff off the table!) This one obviously is using the flash.
