I want to create a fawn coat for a Hasslefree dog model (Hamlet) but I have no idea how to make it. It's fairly obvious that I will need to mix colours, but does anybody have a suggestion?
Furthermore, I am having problems with getting a nice even coat of white on my minis. My new army has white fatigues with purple armour, but while the purple layers on nicely, the white is always broken and has little uniform consistency. Does anybody have a tip to get a nice even coat?

White: Undercoat with grey and work up from there As for the fur, I'd do a darker base coat and drybrush/overbrush lighter colours on the top to create a bit of depth. If you're really going for it, paint it on instead of drybriushing to get it neater. You could always use a wash and re-highlight too.

There is no texture on the model.

You could try a dark basecoat, then in a lighter colour use your thinnest brush and very delicately apply tiny streaks over the raised areas, and just keep working it up. Might be worth a try if you're patient

Does anybody have a tip to get a nice even coat? how about... after a grey or white basecoat... hand paint the recesses with dark grey, then (before you paint skin or armour) airbrush the minis from above with white paint... the airbrush will sort out the even-ness, and if you keep a regulated aim of the airbrush , it wont fully enter the recesses. thats my idea.

An airbrush? How much money do you think I have? But, Cosmic, as I said, there's no raised areas =/ I was also aiming at a colour combination. Any suggestions? I mean, I was thinking of some gray and cbleached bone, but not sure...
