Hey Guys. Just to start off, this is primarily for people living in Australia. I have looked around a bit for effective paint strippers in Australia and have found little to be excited about. As it seems most strippers talked about on the forums are English or American. Which is wonderful, for people in those countries. Not so wonderful when you are across the world from them in a country with obscene customs laws and fees. I decided to go and find one myself, low and behold, the first one I tried was a winner. Scotts Wheelie Bin Phenyle Cleaner. This stuff is great!, after a night of soaking in the stuff, undiluted, the paint just slipped off, with a bit of work from a toothbrush and pick, the test models looked great. I tried both a plastic and metal model, Both were fine. The cleaner does seem to eat super glue though, be that good or bad. And I'm sure you all want some pics, so here you are. Scotts Cleaner Plastic Model The dark patches are just where the paint is super thin, you won't notice once going over with an undercoat. Secondly, Scotts is a dark brown colour and slightly stains the plastic. Metal Model It only cost me $3 for a litre of it, which is pretty good I thought, and you should be able to find it at your local supermarket. Happy paint stripping Aussies.
