+++Vespasianus Sector+++
Sector, Sub Sectors, and Worlds:
- Number of habitable worlds: 7
- Sub sectors: 3
- Sector capital: Vespasianus
Vespasianus Expanse: (5 Worlds)
The sectors principle planet Vespasianus, a rich mining world on the edge of Imperial space and inherently boarding the north western galactic regions of the Tau Empire as of current Imperial dating and star charts which have been redrawn during the Third Sphere Expansion. The planet once thought lost to the greater Imperium for untold millenia, only to be refounded in the late 37th by Imperator explorers. These explorers were themselves shocked to find a prospering prepowder civilization and as is current knowledge in which it should be noted that any records from the original settlers have either been destroyed or degraded as unreadable. Their technological regression is thanks to a faulty STC artifact, though it would seem that they have never forgotten their purposed mission to the planet.
As is evident by the expansive mining operations dotted across the continents. Their mineral stores rich in metals and ores. However, their mineral extraction methods were incredibly insufficient, especially the use of large volumes of water brought to the minehead by numerous aqueducts. In which the water was used for a variety of purposes, including using it to remove overburden and rock debris, as well as washing comminuted or crushed ores, and driving simple machinery.
After years of rehabilitation, restructuring and reorganization. Vespasianus is now considered a civilized world, with the additional classification as mining. Sprawling cities housing millions, open cuts and refineries producing the raw goods to be delivered across the wider Imperium. To their galactic west lays the Imperial sector of Corilithia, one of which that has pledged its defense of the Vespasianus. Navy patrols and Imperial Guard deployments frequent the Sector, as for the trading partners of the high tech system mutual protection must be given.
Worlds:
- Vespasianus I: Civilized, Sector Capital
- Vespasianus II: Hive, Manufactorum
- Vespasianus III: Civilized, Pleasure
- Vespasianus IV: Agri
- Vespasianus V: Civilized, Fortress
Notes of interest:
- First contact, the Kor'shia Sept and the high tech Imperial sector of Corilithia. Both sides show their teeth and claws, each refusing to back down. The Corilithias managing to punch their way deep into Kor'shia's boarders, only to be deterred by a mass counter offensive to their sub sectors agri satellites and asteroid mining facilities.
- Space hulk BigFizzes ride, Corilithian forces board the hulk only to discover the elements of a preparing Ork Waaagh, they fail in their mission to cripple the conglomeration of ancient vessels. In which the Tau of the Kor'shia Sept intercept a week later, slowing its progress and buying time for the planetary defenders.
- Vespasianus III, a planet embattled by an Ork Waaagh under the command of an Ork Warboss call BigFizz. Corilithian forces exit the warp 60 days after principal invasion, only to find themselves allied with Kor'shia Tau forces in an effort to fight back a mutual foe.
- The bargaining chip, Corilithian forces under the capable command of Lord General Hortensius permits the Tau to leave without renewed hostile action. This decision is despised by his staff and fellow senior officers, while Imperial Navy personal ready their batteries. Opening fire on the Tau while they're distracted.
- Battle of hive Hamious, a battle that rages for 8 bloody weeks ends in Imperial victory. Corilithian forces raise their standards across the city habs, manufactorums and argi zones. Though with no word from command, they are unable to tell if reinforcements are to arrive or if the Tau have truly been fended off.
