So I see some threads about Techpriests and ideas on how to use them, with most people just saying they are basically useless.
Quick Question before i continue, Can TechPriest count as your mandatory 1 HQ?( codex wording makes it unclear )
Now i had a couple ideas that came to mind that might actually be feasible.
Idea #1: Techpriest with servitors in chimera that closely follow either a Demolisher and/or Executioner.
Reasoning: TechPriest can fix chimera while inside, servitors if equipped can shoot out. ( also extra way to get more plasma cannons! ) if they need to repair either LR they can move 6" with the tank, Then disembark 6", Then in shooting phase attempt to repair(Hull Pts, Weapon destroyed or immobolized) on said LR. Also good protection against assaults! ( str 8 no saves )
Idea#2: TechPriest with servitors that stay with artillery batteries.
Reasoning: Techpriest obviously repairs artillery as needed, also can provide extra shots ( plasma cannon ) AND/OR protect from outflankers!
Idea#3: Techpriest/servitors in chimera following demolisher/executioner, with Sentinel squad behind it. Or just with sentinels behind the chimera
Reasoning: Chimera can be repaired with TechPriest inside, Chimera provides cover for Sentinels, Tech priest can just disembark if sentinels need a fix and that just makes that whole duo that much more survivable. Now if your doing the trio with the LR's aswell, theres just to many different things to shoot at, that can all just be repaired in one turn. ( only one would be able to get repaired a turn, but i think you get my point )
( Nothing like wasting shots on Sentinels, just so they can get back up again lol )
Idea#4: Techpriest with servitors in a Valkyrie that fly around killing mass infantry or tanks ( if vendetta ) and dropping off Priest where needed.
Reasoning: Fast moving transport, gets him where you need him fast, id suggest MP valk here as you can still move 12" and fire everything so you can cover more ground to be ideally located when not dropping off, worst case scenario, you drop em off into a melee battle lol ( worst of all 4 ideas IMO )
I started thinking about this because as much as i LOVE plasma, it hates me lol as i normally roll below standard when it comes to "gets hot" . but vehicle wise this is a decent "piece of mind" tool, for me at least lol.
I really think these guys would excell in an all armoured company though!
